  1. Someone had a very bad day (Bronco rollover)

I'm thinking a couple of Jeep guy were leaving their favorite bar at closing time and there, parked right out front -- almost intentionally taunting them -- was this flaming Ford product. They looked at one another and in unison shouted, "Oh, hell no!" So it should be called a zero MPH...
  2. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

A little earlier someone told me that a Bronco with the "Advanced 4X4 Transfer Box" should not be flat towed. Only manual transfer boxes can be towed safely. Yet in the above material there was a reference to "Neutral Flat Tow Activation and Deactivation (307-07B Four-Wheel Drive Systems -...
  3. Whatever happened to "Superwinch In A Bag"?

They no longer seem to be available. I was thinking this could be a light weight backup should it ever be needed. Right now I have no plans to drive across the Amazon Rain Forrest during the rainy season. Should my plans change, I'll mount a monster winch on the front and change out the...
  4. Mud flaps for Sasquatch?

I installed a set of WeatherTech flaps a couple of weeks ago. They're fine. The front flaps can be quickly removed if you're going on terrain that could rip them off. The rear flaps are attached by nutclips that are "inside" the bumper. It's difficult to hold those fasteners and at the same...
  5. New SSM 51014 released by Ford explaining 2.7 engine dipstick confusion

While many have used Occam's Razor to support their simple minded solutions, I tend to use the Gillette Blue Blade Razor model. Blue Blades cut both ways. Thus, it's really a horse a piece - no solution is favored. Pick the solution that makes you smile.
  6. OMG! Dropped my door reinstalling after removal! Damage photos

I found a Chinese vendor that sells these door lifts in lots of 50. I've requested pricing information. Given the cost to repair "oopses," it might prove to be cheap insurance if we could put a group buy together. The Amazon price is $250 each.
  7. Tricky Dick's Dirty Bronco

Ever since the COVID lockdowns they haven't been making trees to their pre-lockdown tensile strength. Don't blame the hammock.
  8. How worried should I be about tie rod ends?

Wait, wait... are you saying I shouldn't turn my wheels lock to lock while they're sitting motionless on triple digit hot concrete? Next thing you know you'll be telling me I shouldn't use Trail Turn Assist to burn donuts on concrete either. You're a "BK" for sure. (That's Bronco Killjoy.)
  9. New SSM 51014 released by Ford explaining 2.7 engine dipstick confusion

THIS JUST IN -- BREAKING NEWS FROM FORD'S OFFICE OF DIPSTICK MISINFORMATION -- The newest product number for the Bronco 2.7 motor dipstick is URA-B0Z0-2. Unfortunately, supply chain issues will prevent Bronco owners from purchasing this recently updated and critically important component until...
  10. New SSM 51014 released by Ford explaining 2.7 engine dipstick confusion

GM only offered Daytona Yellow in 1969 and 1970. I bought the Vette many years ago after a night of heavy drinker with its former owner. I think I had it out three times this year (and not since Texas temps hit triple digits). I put it up for sale four days ago. It's time for someone else to...
  11. New SSM 51014 released by Ford explaining 2.7 engine dipstick confusion

Somehow I have the feeling that if those posting angry comments in this thread were to insert that dipstick where the sun don't shine, they would find that they too are over filled.
  12. De-ionizing water filter for washing your Bronco.

Has anyone installed a special inline filter with their garden hose for washing their cars? Does the filter really reduce water spots? Thanks.
  13. Foiling car thieves with hidden sister 12 volt lead ?

Oh, and a few years (BC - Before COVID) my friend had a classic Mustang convertible. He had installed a hidden kill switch. It was parked in his driveway. He came out one morning and it was gone. The neighbor's video doorbell camera caught the event. One thief hopped in to steer and the...
  14. Foiling car thieves with hidden sister 12 volt lead ?

I think you missed the massive recall. Oh, and Ford was about to enter a marketing deal with the Trunk Monkey people until the 2.7 valve issue came up. Turns out the monkeys refused to ride in Bronco trunks until the NHTSA issued its final report.
  15. Foiling car thieves with hidden sister 12 volt lead ?

Do you have to remove the "ignition switch - push button" from the dash in order to install the kill switch in the Green / White wire? Thanks.
