I'm not sure how much you have researched but going with the kicker you will want to close off the port. I used an old t shirt. Some have used socks and others expanding foam.

Here is my Fusion amp and Kicker sub installed in the factory housing. If you search the forum the 4 ohm speaker is recommended and seal off the ported tube. The Forscan change to power sub. Took me longer to get the panel off than to do the swap.
