Just one more instance of Ford changing the rules and going back on their word. They probably realized late they were going to shift from a Sas/Wildtrak constraint to a Badlands constraint as lots of people were going to switch to Badlands High package as the closest thing to Sas/Lux
Same. There's no mention of the 2 door except in a footnote that notes you can't switch from a 4 door to 2 door. A plain reading of the email suggests that 2 doors are not eligible for the $2500 but as we know, Ford is horrible at communication and given a mod at the other site more or less...
Indeed it does. The past 2.5 years feel like a huge waste of time to be honest and we've all lost the opportunity to get something else before interest rates went sky high and trade in values dropped. It's been nice having this forum to commiserate on over the years after every Ford screw up but...
I have a garage and plan to ride top off/doors off a good 6-8 months of the year here in CA so can easily live with the mediocre soft top for a couple years. But no chance I switch to a 4 door, I have zero interest there so if that's the only option, I bail.
deeply disappointing but fully expected given how Ford has treated us almost from the minute they opened up reservations. sigh, if this is true I'm finally out
The Bestop 2 door fastback isn't horrible to my eye but I strongly prefer the MIC look. But if it comes down to the Bestop or nothing/losing PP and order getting cancelled, I would take the Bestop. Hopefully there would be an additional cost savings that could go toward a hardtop in a couple years.
That's the rub. Will Ford 1) allow 2 door reservations some flexibility given there's no soft top option, 2) give us a soft top option, or 3) screw us over and force us to a 4 door or cancel our reservations and take away PP at the end of the year.
Given Ford's treatment of reservation holders...
imo 33s look really good on the 2 door, you get extra travel with the Badlands suspension vs Squatch, and it's not prohibitively expensive to upgrade to 35s later if you really want. You also get better highway drivability and mileage (not that I'm buying a Bronco for either of those reasons...
Yeah, I'm still massively annoyed at Ford but the silver lining is there are some pretty sweet deals to be had if they actually honor the PP and $2500. My PP is $3425 so I'm looking at $7925 off current invoice with the Grangetober deal. Crazy good deal and gives some extra $$$ for upgrades.
If (and it's a very big if) Ford will allow us to keep 2 door orders and just remove Sasquatch and Lux, this could work out well. I'm ok moving from a squatch BL to non-squatch and the difference between Lux and High is negligible for me at least.
With Grangtober pricing ($2k below invoice)...
@H0pelessOpus thanks.
I pinged Lepke and they got back to me super quick with a quote to ship to the SF Bay Area - $1400 for open transport with $50k insurance coverage; $2100 for closed transport with $200k insurance coverage. These are pretty reasonable and at the low end compared to other...
Do you have any links to dealers listing at MSRP for 2 door Badlands? Or private owners below MSRP? I've been looking everywhere with no luck. I'm in CA but willing to travel.
I really really hope you are right. I stopped by Towne in Redwood City a couple days ago and they had a cancelled...
I dropped from Lux to High for this reason and also b/c the price difference doesn't seem worth it given everyone says the B&O system is mediocre and I'll probably upgrade the system anyway. I'm very unlikely to get my 10/1/20 Grangetober res built before price protection goes away in 2024 and...
I'm in the 190s and would consider it a minor miracle to get mine next year before price protection goes away. Q4 2023 would be a huge win at this point given all the 99'd orders that will bump us back many spots on the list but I like the optimism and hope you are right.
It wouldn't matter how many reservations a single dealer had if Ford followed their original promise to build broncos in order of timestamp (subject to parts availability)
I'll admit, I ignorantly took Ford at their word when they committed to build in order of timestamp. I certainly won't...
