  1. Bilstein 8112s + 35s installed on my non-SAS Badlands

Hey @crenca my LCAs are in pretty good shape. I’m surprised at how well they’ve held up. Doesn’t look like many major hits. Not sure how I’ve avoided that. They seem quite robust. The link mounts in the rear definitely take more hits. But still in decent shape. But, yeah, paint is scraped off...
  2. Bilstein 8112s + 35s installed on my non-SAS Badlands

Goat Fabrication sliders. They are body mount (stock locations). But I’ve had no issues using them to pivot off rocks. Now mind you, I haven’t beat them as hard as some people beat on their sliders. I understand why some prefer frame mount.
  3. Bilstein 8112s + 35s installed on my non-SAS Badlands

The alignment was straightforward with the stock UCAs. No issues with 35s.
  4. Bilstein 8112s + 35s installed on my non-SAS Badlands

Open the Onx Offroad app. Click the hamburger icon upper left-> Elite Deals. This is if you have an Elite membership. It’s a one-time use discount code uniquely generated for each user.
  5. Bilstein 8112s + 35s installed on my non-SAS Badlands

That’s a Napoleon Dynamite reference. Heh. Will be a pleasure to drive with you again. Last time was in the snow with a complex winch scenario.
  6. Bilstein 8112s + 35s installed on my non-SAS Badlands

After 48k miles it was time to replace the OEM 33” KO2s on my 4dr Badlands. After a lot of thought, off-roading (and developing arguments to convince my wife) I decided to make change. Of those 48k miles about 1,200 are offroad in various conditions. Snow wheeling, dirt roads, tight squirmy...
  7. Heat vent operation

Heh I’ve been afraid to ask and never bothered to research. But the HVAC behavior is so odd. I ask for heat, heat doesn’t come. Unless I really crank it high. Turn down heat, heat still on. Same thing with AC. Sometimes it just blows cold even if AC is off. Floor vents don’t actually seem to...
  8. Memento Mori Run: Cross-Country + Baja Mitad 2026 (Bronco Raptor + Futura Trailer + ’67 Beetle)

Did you confirm that Broncos are allowed? They position it as a Raptor trip. I’ve pondered their trips for awhile. I’ve done 3 other Baja trips (different outfit) that are considerably less expensive. But without the same level of support and “touch”. But I like the low rent stuff. The EXO trips...
  9. Testing drone out with Bronco in first big snow

Did our burn piles a couple weeks ago in the rain on Donner Summit. We also had a third, unplanned, “burn pile” as someone made a big mistake and tossed some wood stove ash out back. But the ash was not entirely cold. It quickly went underground. Took us awhile to put it out. A scary reminder...
  10. Hammer Built 3rd Brake/Chase/Running/Reverse Light Install.

I have a Turn rear bumper with integrated lights. The downside with using those as chase lights is 1) they are angled slightly downward, and 2) they are mounted low. When using them as chase lights, like in dusty Baja, it’s better to have them mounted higher. But, my current setup has prevented...
  11. Hammer Built 3rd Brake/Chase/Running/Reverse Light Install.

Doesn’t seem to be listed on the HB website any more. Or did I miss it?
  12. RTR Tech-6 0 Offset Wheels & Falken AT4W Tires Pictures

I just got the AT4 31570R17 paired with Method 707 bead grips at 25 offset in matte black. They look sweet and I’m excited to air down lower than I did in OEM wheels. Coming from KO2 33s, these are much more aggressive and seem significantly larger (probably also the impact of the new Bilstein...
  13. Just added Bilstein 8112’s

My rock crawl experience was excellent. But I need to do more sustained crawling to get a good feel. I’ll be doing some SoCal desert high speed runs next week. Will report back. Will be mostly fire roads with some whoops. And there are some short steep sections. And a few whoops. Will see what...
  14. 3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF) Rating, Is It REALLY Meaningful?

Driving sensibly is worth much more than a specific tire. The tire is the cherry on top.
  15. Method OFFSET???

I installed Method 707 +25mm offset with Falken Wildpeak 315R7017. I like it. But I’m not interested in a lot of poke or 37s. Definitely more poke than my stock +55 wheels with 33s. No rub with Bilstein 8112
  16. Just added Bilstein 8112’s

Yeah I haven’t messed much with the JCO, mainly because two compression settings is enough for my brain right now. Also the JCO are a pain to adjust in the rear. Heh. On rocks I settled on 3/2/3 for a comfortable composed ride doing loops at my local-ish park. Haven’t done any high speed stuff...
  17. Just added Bilstein 8112’s

I’ve noticed it. But only rarely. There is a noticeable click. But I’ve noticed only a handful of times over the last 4 weeks I’ve had them installed. Of course, I often have music on so may not notice. When I do notice it’s just a “click” sound. These are my onroad settings, 4dr Badlands 6cyl...
  18. Kindred Motorworks classic Bronco restoration - test drive

Today I had the chance to test drive restored (well more like re-engineered) classic Broncos from Kindred Motorworks. These are amazing machines. The price, however, is not for the masses. Kindred (based in Vallejo, CA) is a boutique car restoration company focused on classic Broncos (and soon...
  19. Charging Jackery E300 Plus from rear DC port. Ok, or asking for trouble?

For your use the rear port will be fine. If I had a larger battery and greater power demands I’d optimize by re-wiring. I have the Ecoflow Trail 300. It’s DC only but that’s all I need I’ve realized over time. Charge a radio, a light, but I mainly use it to power my fridge (which has a small...
  20. Las Vegas Off-Rodeo Report

I really liked the LV Off Rodeo. Did it before I even got the Bronco delivered. Like at least a year before. Ha. Not planned of course. I naively thought I’d have it sooner. I also drove a 2dr for fun. Enjoyed it. But I gotta haul some kids skiing so stuck with the 4dr
