  1. Aluminum lower control arm, should we be concerned?

I'd really like to see a photo of underside those Moab/Johnson Valley test mules. Here's the closest I have to the above photo from a Jeep. You can see the axle and lower control arm suffer from a lot of rock rash. I'd expect the same on those test rigs. The cool thing is no rust, in the LCAs...
  2. Rock rails mounted to the body vs frame

Body is good as long as the rails are substantial and well mounted. Ideally offset some too, so if you hit a rock from the side you have some protection.
  3. Locking Diff Question

It would b e super helpful to know how smart the Bronco really is. If it's smart enough to put the brakes to one wheel to aid with traction it will go a LONG way to helping an open diff in many situations. I know that everyone says if you only have one locker then do the rear. Thats true if...
  4. Automatic On Demand 4x4...is it worth 10 Benjamins?

You should be able to drive 80 on black ice no problem. Just don't try to stop or turn.
  5. NJ/NY/Delaware/Eastern Pa./MD/Ct Volume Buyers?

Exactly. If a dealer cannot simply say yes or no, or give some simple understandable counter-offer then they are likely not going to be good to deal with in general. I've found that whenever someone complicates/delays what should be a simple process the reason is most often because they are...
  6. New Ford bronco at bronco super fest west

It would be cool if you could get them to put those bikes in a 2 and 4 door bronco for comparison purposes....
  7. Aluminum lower control arm, should we be concerned?

That's true to some degree. On the jeep it was mostly just missing paint. Sometimes an alignment due to hitting the tie rod a little too hard.
  8. Sway Bar Disconnect Functionality

There is less resistance. However from a tippy-ness perspective its the same with a solid axle. The resistance to tipping is provided by the spring. With both a solid and ifs the spring is close to unloaded. If the suspension is set up well, it's not completely unloaded so if the tire is...
  9. Sway Bar Disconnect Functionality

Rather than think of traction think of tippy-ness. With the sway bar the unstuffed tire will be pulled up. This means that the rig can "tip down" the distance that the tire is in the air. With the sway bar disconnected the tire will contact the ground sooner and provide some resistance to...
  10. Bike rack / bicycle carrier options for 2021 Bronco?

Isn't that photo a 2 door? In my case - I'm seeking a 4 door - so even more room if that photo is 2 door :)
  11. Bike rack / bicycle carrier options for 2021 Bronco?

I have that very setup now, with a 1x3. Works in the Excursion and the Minivan just fine. Doesn't work in the 2 door Jeep at all. I expect it will work well in the Bronco. If it doesn't then I'll pass. If I really thought it wasn't going to work I'd be looking hard at 4 door Jeeps. I'm not....
  12. Aluminum lower control arm, should we be concerned?

Ha, tell that to the tie rod on my Jeep. "Drive by feel" is something that happens, especially without a spotter.
  13. Bike rack / bicycle carrier options for 2021 Bronco?

Same here. That one's a dealbreaker for me....
  14. Anybody at the colorodo event ask question?

Extra holes in the frame is good. More places for junk to escape. More places to stick an undercoating wand. BUT I would ask this question: Jeep has had tubular frames for years. They are horrible. They rust from the inside out. There's a whole aftermarket industry selling weld in replacement...
  15. Bronco Raptor / Warthog Prototype Spied Testing in Michigan!

The yellow bronco that I saw didn't have a panhard bar...
  16. Front axle engagement — integrated wheel ends (IWE)?

Will there be a manual hub option for the M210 (30 spline I assume)?
  17. Will you defer placing an order and ultimately delivery of your reserved Bronco is there is not a hybrid avail?

Nope didn't know that. Sounds promising. Now if Ford were to run that technology in a Baja truck and a KOH race car - with good success - it would be more meaningful to me :)
  18. Will you defer placing an order and ultimately delivery of your reserved Bronco is there is not a hybrid avail?

The battery will need to go somewhere. Jeep, in my opinion, did a poor job with placement in a hard core 4x4 (Rubicon). We'll see if Ford has more sense in that area. I'm getting the Bronco because Jeep doesn't give me a choice with the hybrid. The 2021 Rubicon is only a hybrid. In the case of...
  19. Beadlock experience

Better to say that not all beadlocks are not street legal: The street-legal solution for “air-down” recreational applications. Tub style bead locks (Coyote)
  20. Granger Ford - New vehicle break in process

I'd be interested in a tip on turbo care. With my diesel I idle for 5 min when coming into an interstate rest area for example. Not so much after tooling around town. An example for the Bronco could be driving in deep sand which seems to put quite a load the engine. Do we want to give some time...
