  1. Additional Ford Deposit

Ask your dealer for a photo of the requirement on Ford letterhead and/or the phone number of the regional sales rep so you can verify that Ford is requiring this of all dealers.
  2. Let’s have the discussion... what’s the point of the warthog?

If they produce a rig that can actually handle 37" tires - 35 spline axle shafts, beefy suspension and lots of travel (14+") it will be huge for people who want KOH styled rigs. I've been wanting a street legal KOH (ish) car since the first year they started the races :-)
  3. Official Update: Bronco Reservation Move Cutoff Date (Jan 31) + 2021MY Allocations Cutoff Date (Sep 18) + 2022 MY Reservation Start Date

I would guess a day 3 reservation would be fantastic anywhere. See if she will give up your place in her reservation book. If you really trust and like the dealer then I would start with them for guidance. Seems like you have 2+ months to make a change (until things change again). I'd hate...
  4. Official Update: Bronco Reservation Move Cutoff Date (Jan 31) + 2021MY Allocations Cutoff Date (Sep 18) + 2022 MY Reservation Start Date

I think Ford requiring any non-refundable deposit, especially after establishing that they cannot keep promises (eg "tweaking" the reservation model), would make FCA very happy.
  5. SAS-MATCH PACKAGE?

    Get them painted after delivery.
  6. Sway Bar disconnect option (aftermarket or factory) for Wildtrak?

Sway bar disconnects aren't the only solution to good off-road articulation. I have a Currie Anti-Rock on my Jeep and the rig is very stable and predictable on trails with somewhat more lean when turning on the road.
  7. Official Update: Bronco Reservation Move Cutoff Date (Jan 31) + 2021MY Allocations Cutoff Date (Sep 18) + 2022 MY Reservation Start Date

I think this used to be true, but it now longer is. If you dealer is allocated 500 rigs but has 501 reservations and yours is #501 then you will be bumped to MY 2022. If the person with #50,000 is with some other dealer with an allocation of 5,000 rigs and they are in line at 5,000 at that...
  8. Spotted: Bronco Warthog marked as "Warthog" by Ford engineers

The rear end photo has a Panhard bar and a removable diff cover. I'd really like to know if there's going to be a model with 35 spline axles, more travel etc. That would be worth a good premium....
  9. NJ/NY/Delaware/Eastern Pa./MD/Ct Volume Buyers?

I sent an email to my local dealers with no reply or no commitment to any level of pricing (including MSRP). Grainger replied within 24 hours. Grainger has nothing to gain by screwing people over. No-one is going to close a deal with them unless the terms are locked in beforehand. I have the...
  10. sasquatch on badlands really worth it?

That diagram doesn't make sense to me. If I've added pre-load the the right spring then at ride height it should be compressed more than the one on the left. The right spring "sees" more weight. The pre-load plus the weight of the car.... I admit it could be just me getting confused... help me...
  11. sasquatch on badlands really worth it?

Good point. If the spring "bottoming out" is the compression limit, then you're also giving up travel to gain some height with this approach. Correct?
  12. My driving impressions for the 2.3 vs 2.7L engines

Can the auto trans be shifted manually or are you 100% at the mercy of the computer?
  13. sasquatch on badlands really worth it?

All true. The shocks are coil overs, so if people get loose with terms it can get confusing fast. A coil over with a stiffer spring could give a 1" lift. The ride may differ as well due to the higher spring rate. A longer shock with a similar spring rate (so longer spring too) would give a...
  14. sasquatch on badlands really worth it?

Oh that kind of stinks - would be nice to have an option. Good to know, I was under the impression you had to go Sasquatch since the rims are wider (aren't they) - so more targeted to 12.5" wide tires. No worries. I think what we really need is a table that shows all the actual known...
  15. sasquatch on badlands really worth it?

I would not pass on Sasquatch just because of the on-road manners of the tires they provide. Those can always be swapped. You have to decide how important these items are: * Forged Wheels (probably wider rims too) * High Clearance Suspension * Trail Turn Assist * Higher Gear Ratio * 35" Tires...
  16. Pics: Bronco Frame, Chassis and Suspension

Seems strange. Why make the upper serviceable and the lower not?
  17. Pics: Bronco Frame, Chassis and Suspension

Thats good info. What is the context (do you have a link)? From what I can tell these seem to be what Ford calls tow hooks - mounted to the frame with 2 M8 or M10 bolts:
  18. Help me convince wife to switch from FE Sport to a 2/4 door.

Ha, glutton for punishment :-). Take a look at a Ranger and 2/4 Door Jeep to get a feeling for size. Range is the same chassis (I think) so that will give a feeling for size. I think Jeeps have about the same space as the Bronco. Also you could tell here that if she doesn't like it then she...
