Ford could have taken the honorable route here — the route that everyone understands, in their bones, to be the right one: Fulfill orders by time stamp, subject to supply availability.
Instead, they’ve taken the lawyerly “fine print” route and caved to ADM dealers. This behavior is...
What can be done?
I only plan to keep posting bitchy comments about Ford in threads like this. I’m not really on social media, and I imagine any emails to Ford will just get read for laughs at the next Allocation Committee meeting.
Ford’s Bronco strategy is wild.
1. Completely fumble launch of critically important new vehicle.
2. Screw honest dealers like Gupton while rewarding crooks like this.
3. Piss off your best and most loyal customers/future brand ambassadors.
4. ?????
5. SUCCESS!!!
Sooo I decided to check the receipts. I’m a Granger customer and am outraged by this whole thing. However, Ford plainly left itself some wiggle room on this from the get-go. Shame on me for not reading more carefully.
This is really the point. Nobody needs a Bronco that bad. The Wrangler is a wonderful alternative. I was lined up to be a conquest customer for Ford. Now I’m completely turned off to the point where I don’t think I’ll ever buy any Ford.
All they had to do, as someone suggested above, was fill...
100% correct. I’ve done this with Jeep three times, each time from a small dealership that does a large Wrangler volume.
As you note, this is a Ford-specific problem. I won’t be waiting five years to order a Bronco. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a Ford after this treatment — a shame since my...
LOLOLOL I’m looking at 2026??
What the everloving $&@!??
Ford has lost its mind. They are burned out and insane after a year of Bronco/Covid stress.
I can order a Wrangler, today, for $8k under MSRP and expect to have it around 10 weeks later.
Hell, I can get a 6th Gen 4Runner before then...
Who wants to tell Levine that there are a handful of Jeep dealers that operate on exactly this model, and that it works out great for customers, the dealer, and Stellantis? Kumbayah!
Jeep brings its own challenges to the table, but this BS isn't one of them.
