If this does turn out to be identical and I am able to resolve following the same steps as you, then I owe you a beer!
However, it should be noted that I bought my Bronco brand new and it has never been touched by anyone except the factory and the dealers. Meaning if my issue is also loose...
I have a similar odd sounding metallic flutter on my Bronco. Noticed around 3,000 miles.
Dealership claimed they do not know how to fix it.
I guess I can try to identify the cross member bolts myself.. as far as the shifter cable goes, that is way beyond my skill set
Does the sound in this...
Please let us know how your test goes if you perform it (I'd assume you are talking about unplugging the 4x4 actuator)
I'd really like to test as well, but my dealership claims they can't feel the vibration and thus if I un-plug it and it resolves the problem.. I will just have a new issue on...
Just been dealing with it thus far - I have a pretty busy schedule and the dealers around here have failed me so frequently I don't really want to risk having no vehicle for X amount of days for no reason.
I have a thread on this exact issue for my Bronco. One of many.
Mine is extremely random in terms of when it decides not to turn on.
Between this, high way vibration, leaking A-pillars, metal fluttering sound...etc
I'm thinking I have a lemon...
Yes - that is what I am trying (poorly) to convey.
With my buddys wheels and tires on my bronco, I still experienced vibration on the highway. He was there to confirm as well.
We then ran his bronco with my wheels and tires. His still ran smooth.
Yes - it left the factory as a Sas.
Mentioned earlier in the thread but I literally swapped wheels and tires entirely with my buddies BL in order to test anything related to wheels and tires.
My truck still vibrated. His did not.
Ended up selling on FB.
but for reference I am just disappointed in Hard Top's overall.
Not quiet enough for thousands of dollars. This goes for the Ford OEM too (that one is louder as actually)
It would seem if a team of real engineers came along, and focus just a tad more efforts on sound...
Thank you!
There seem to be many many many toxic folks on this forum.
The picture shows where he got stuck, clearly less than 30"
Not sure why folks are quick to worship ford (who could not care less about you) and so quick to trash fellow Bronco owners.
Service manager rode with me and told me she could hear it, but didn't have a resolve. Supposedly ford was looking into it at the corporate level (horse shit)
Are you having a similar issue?
I too wonder how the dealership dudes will receive this news, I also worry that my issue is slightly different because I can't see how pulling the actuator will impact the vibrations I am feeling
