Pretty sure I would have you beat on worst build thread ever. I added 4WP coilovers with lowering springs. Seriously.
I was going to start a thread. “Just got my Bronco, how did everyone lower this thing”
Dude.. Portals are the ultimate bolt on solution for free clearance without consequences. I have heard this everywhere… so duh.. Consider yourself proved wrong.
Subjective opinion.
In my book 37weld (and decreasing) has no credibility and Quinn takes all the blame for how his business is run. Untrustworthy and highly suspect for anything they produce.
Fairly objective based on current knowledge state.
This bolted joint is a poor design. And I...
It is becoming fairly clear that joint was under designed. There is just not sufficient clamping force available from the current geometry and location of the three smallish bolts. This highlights the importance of tight tolerances to share some of the load, ie, bearing surfaces and shear pin...
A very poorly designed bolted joint. An understanding of the shear loads at the joint is required. Sufficient clamping force to deal with the expected loads (number, size and location of bolts). And/Or adequate bearing surfaces to resist loads so bolts won’t bend, shear, fatigue (so proper tight...
I would not try to make your current axle shaft work by smashing it in deeper into the intermediate shaft housing. I would order another one and see if it is shorter. Sure seems like you got the wrong one.
I assume @Snacktime pulled that one from his pic of a working diff?? If so that is the...
I just had my front end apart a couple weeks ago. Swapping m190 for m210. I could have measured for you. They should rotate with same minimal resistance on both sides. Easily rotate by hand. There is inertia but not really frictional resistance.
Passenger side video.
@Snacktime might have...
I went back and forth on getting that harness. Stupid cost but ended up getting it. I am a little terrified of electrical voodoo magic. I still don’t understand how the kitchen lights come on when I flip a switch. 🤷♂️
The long travel 3 link Panhard with 6 million inches of wheel travel and only 1” of lateral motion from the Panhard is really impressive. Very curious to hear how that does as you get more trail miles.
It is very refreshing to see Vasher doing these things and putting out different design options. Unlike others that just claim their stuff has no drawbacks and is bulletproof. Every design has its goals and resulting compromises. That is the point of design intent.
The 3 link with Panhard...
You spelled that incorrectly. Shouldn’t it be BULLET… thinks to self, maybe I shouldn’t comment here.. nah, I am pretty sure this dude is just making up words…
I forgot about this setup. I was thinking of your conventional 3 link with Panhard he did. Thats the way I would go.
I have a hard time calling that other one a 3 link. Even though it only has 3 links that upper has some triangulation built in and will carry some real lateral loads. 3.5 link. 😬
With diligent kinematic analysis, you can probably keep the CV angles under control. It does seem that he has rigorously designed the full suspension cycling. 🤷♂️
