  1. Y'all Are More Patient Than Me (Defender v. Bronco Comparison)

How is it technically not a 4X4, it has 4X4? lol. Your comment makes no sense. The irony is, a small % of owners of either will ever push either vehicle to their limits.
  2. I'm Done - What a Joke

So will you. If you ever even get your Bronco..with whatever experimental version of the top.
  3. I'm Done - What a Joke

And the Bronco and it's paper mache top is a build quality darling? I could careless. It's under warranty.
  4. Nov 1 Update - 2022 order confirmation email from Ford

I'm In Vancouver, Canada - and this is all I can see when I log into Ford.ca. Dealer said they placed the order...I haven't received any confirmation emails, etc. I have such little confidence in them at this stage. This whole thing has been a shit show...
  5. Nov 1 Update - 2022 order confirmation email from Ford

I don't believe any scheduling is supposed to take place until October 28th, at which I would imagine confirmation emails would start to go out. I'm not holding my breath. This whole processes has been a hot mess. Dealers don't know anything, Ford doesn't know anything lol.
  6. I'm Done - What a Joke

I did see it, yes. This is all just turned into too much of a hassle for a friggin car. A car that comes half painted for that matter. The Defender and the Bronco are really way more vehicle than most of us will ever utilize. I spoke to another dealer today to see if they could help. If they...
  7. I'm Done - What a Joke

I'd ask the same - if you ever get your Bronco. Ford isn't known for their quality and reliability either. Potentially poor reliability was a reality I accepted whether I went with Ford or Land Rover. And one you'll likely need to accept, too. Of course I'm leasing it. Would never make the...
  8. I'm Done - What a Joke

Coastal Ford. I'm number 9 in terms of priority. I'll wait and see what happens come October 28th - but I'm not holding my breath. I'm 98% committed to my Defender now.
  9. I'm Done - What a Joke

I'll joyfully be getting stuck in my Defender while you still wait for you Bronco. Let me know when your roof start leaking :)
  10. I'm Done - What a Joke

I've tried Jeep. They don't excite me and I think they are under equipped/refined for the price. I'd rather kick up some more cash and move up to a Defender.
  11. I'm Done - What a Joke

The Defenders really are very impressive. I've driven a few. I'm not too concerned with reliability...the Defenders from what I've read have been pretty good thus far and I'll get rid of it once the warranty is up. Only bug, they are pricey. If you start pricing out something like what a Bronco...
  12. I'm Done - What a Joke

Ford said not possible. They automatically cancelled it and said they can't revive it.
  13. I'm Done - What a Joke

Just crazy. I really wanted the Bronco. Drove one in person - I think Ford did a tremendous job. I know covid really fucked things, but still - the communication has been terrible. Ford is asking a lot stringing people a long for this long. This vehicle wasn't ready. Ford got greedy. Maybe...
  14. I'm Done - What a Joke

My original reservation - July 14th, 9AM. I then made another because I thought there was an error - July 17th. I went to the dealer and they told me they converted my July 14th. I find out today they converted the wrong time stamp. They said there is nothing they can do, Ford customer service -...
  15. Why you don't want a 2021

Let me save you the trouble, standard responses: "ok ya cancel...so I can get my sooner" "give Ford a break" "here we go again" Everyone seems eager to get their Bronco, but maybe we should be careful what we ask for... Companies are notorious nowadays for pushing out half baked products...
  16. September Bronco Commodity Guide - Here's how to get your Bronco scheduled more quickly!

Exactly. Enough of this shenanigans...going to soft top to get a hardtop later on, swapping this and that out. Seems impulsive. We are talking about a lot of money. Stick with your original build and don't make concessions.
  17. I'll paint my own dam top: MOD vs MIC

All great info. I suspect the bug in the whole process is baking. I know some paint manufacturers recommend baking at 1500F for 30 mins to pull out release agents, prior to adhesion promoter. I'd pay $2k+ to get my top painted to match the body, without hesitation. I wonder if both the MIC and...
  18. I'll paint my own dam top: MOD vs MIC

Hope you give this some deeper thought. No, not necessarily. Production lines are specifically engineered to do a very specific task; moreover, Ford most certainly could paint MIC tops, and they likely don't for what is a very obvious reason - their original plan was to up sell you into a MOD...
  19. I'll paint my own dam top: MOD vs MIC

Then let's start painting some turds. I'm personally going to attempt this with some fender flares. Yolo.
  20. I'll paint my own dam top: MOD vs MIC

Fine, don't sand it. Prime, paint. I'm struggling to believe these tops are simply not paintable. 1, 2, 5 layers or not. There is solution for every plastic polymer.
