  1. Rock crawler build

We used to get over there at least once a year- usually in the spring so the girls could see the dogwoods blooming. With our XP Turbos we ride all of the 1-3 trails and most of the 4's. My XP Turbo only has 30's on it... Ever been to Green Acres in Clayton OK? We used to go there several times...
  2. Rock crawler build

We mainly run around Pitkin, Tin cup. Hancock Pass, Alpine Tunnel. Also around Crested Butte- Devils Punch Bowl, Keebler Pass, etc. Also around Westcliffe- Hermit Pass and Cloverdale Mine. These trails we do with the Polaris General. For the bigger rocks at places like Hot Springs ORV park we...
  3. Rock crawler build

Then I would probably sell the General, XP Turbo and F150. Then have two Broncos- one for rocks and one for malls.. ;0
  4. Rock crawler build

That's my dilemna. Do I get a nice Bronco- OBX or Badlands and run it down the road and trails. and get it scratched and beat up- Or get the cheaper Base and make it a rock crawler and to/from the trails and not care as much if it gets beat up... Right now we have a Polaris General that we use...
  5. Rock crawler build

So is the 2.3 and SAS gearing good enough?
  6. Rock crawler build

How do you think a 2 door base with the 2.3L, 10 speed and SAS package will do? Is the 2.3 enough power? I would throw a 10k winch and skid plates on it. Mainly rocky trails in Colorado...............
  7. 2 door base Sasquatch 2.3 vs. 2.7?

The sound you hear is piped out of the speakers on the 3.5 eco in the F150 so I imagine the same for the Bronco
  8. Fuel economy at 70-80 mph?

Same for me. I have a 600 mile drive to our vacation home and fuel economy matters. Then when there use the Bronco for access to fishing and camping in remote lakes. Gas is already $3.60 in our small mountain town
  9. Fuel economy at 70-80 mph?

Hilly terrain? Or windy? Any mods to the Bronco such as roof rack, etc? Thanks
  10. Fuel economy at 70-80 mph?

    SAS package?
  11. Fuel economy at 70-80 mph?

Thanks for that. I agree the ecoboosts are thirsty. If you talk to the F150 guys that tow, the 5.0 always does better than the 3.5 eco on fuel
  12. Badlands vs Black Diamond 10 speed

When I build a Badlands it charges me $1595 for the 10 speed. When I build a Black Diamond it doesn't charge me. Both builds have the 2.7 which says it includes the 10 speed. Is this an error in build and price? Thanks
  13. Traction control vs lockers

This video is of a Ford Everest and shows traction control vs front locker vs front and rear lockers... Ranger traction control video
  14. Traction control vs lockers

Sorry I meant to say 4.46 but that ratio would still run 400 rpm higher than the 3.73 @ 80 mph
  15. Fuel economy at 70-80 mph?

    Thanks very much!
  16. Traction control vs lockers

I have rear lockers on both trucks, my SxS's and tractors so I know how that works. If the traction control and ABS can simulate lockers to some extent I can get a OBX with 4.27 or 3.73 and get better fuel economy on our 600 mile runs to our summer place in CO. I would like a Badlands but think...
  17. Traction control vs lockers

What's the difference? If a rock is slick then how's that different from a slick muddy road? You still don't have traction
  18. Traction control vs lockers

How effective is traction control vs the front and rear lockers? Worthless? Better than nothing?
  19. Fuel economy at 70-80 mph?

Nobody drives at 55......... if you do you will get ran over.. On our long drives from TX to CO driving at 55 instead of 80 would take me an extra 3 hours or so, so that isn't happening either Finally your data on fuel economy drop at speeds is worthless because the EPA doesn't test at 55mph...
