#26 incoming, it sounds like @TravisC91 had the same problem as me and potentially same outcome.

I would head over to the main thread for blown 2.7L engines… sounds exactly like my situation.

@Lucchese Do you have an idea of how many in the list of 20 have had engines replaced at this point? Trying to gauge how long I’ll be waiting.
Similar to another poster I too only had the one vehicle and having it crap out during the holidays is far from ideal. I ended up buying a 2012 Honda...
@Lance103222 Have you heard whether it’s not approved for replacement or just unavailable? I’ve been in contact with Ford Customer service and they say mine’s been escalated by my dealer, but the escalation is still to be determined due to unknown availability of replacement parts.
Also, Ford...
I just bought a pair of basic flat flaps from Amazon that I attached with self drilling screws into the well guard. They slipped between the rock rails and the crash bars. This on a non-sas BD. Works well at keeping the sides clean. Just make sure you have them out far enough and down far...

Failed 12/24 after leisurely freeway drive home. Probably in 4A due to inclement weather. Would not crank on next attempt 2 days later. Towed to dealer 12/29.
Blend date 7/12
Failed Part Number: MB3E-6007-AA
Engine Julian Date: 21XXX (at the shop)
Engine Sequence Number...
I’ll try to get the serial on Monday when the dealer opens.
Out of curiosity what is the benefit in calling Ford? Is this to keep dealers in check? I’m planning to call them, but just curious on the reasoning behind it. In the past when I’ve called they didn’t seem to be useful…
I’m in the same boat and the dealer said Ford is closed this week so it’s not surprising the engine has not been authorized yet. Well I hope we all get resolved in the new year. Also, no car rental companies in my area have cars this week.
I’ve also started to log my journey at

I will do my best to give updates as I receive them. So far it’s just wait until Monday and see what @Ford Motor Company has to say.
Icymi I dropped a valve on my 2.7 liter after 1795 miles. Not sure when it will be replaced, but guessing 6-8 weeks. More info on other thread https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/2-7l-blown-engines-20-noted-so-far-12-30-update.31951/page-6#post-1075250
FWIW I was very diligent in taking it easy during the first 1000 miles during the break in period. Also only ever used top tier 92 octane. Maybe this was my undoing.
Also, after reading other threads I thought I’d point out that I was very diligent in following the 1000 mile break in procedure and also only ever used top tier 92 octane. Maybe the break in was my undoing.
I’ll see if they will send me a pic of the serial.
Has anyone heard how long a replacement will take? I’m assuming a couple months. Sucks my only other car is a 1980 Scout II that’s currently topless. Going to press the dealer to help my out on a second vehicle.
