Thanks
I hope using 4H on the freeway for a short trip would not break anything, I could imagine how many trucks or demos would be in the shop if it was so fragile
Well I Hope!! Haha thanks everybody
Because I am an IDIOT
I Just realized what binding is
Somewhere I read 4H could be used for slippery situations and it was raining really hard. Anyways everyday you learn something new
Thanks
Actually I just replicated the same by selecting 4H, the steering feels heavy and the rear tire drags. It was raining so I chose 4H to have more traction, but at slow speeds it feels really weird.
I put it back on 2H and still did the same, so my guess is 2H takes a bit of distance to fully...
Hello there, I tried to search in threads to see if this has been discussed before
My outerbanks was delivered two days ago, today it rained hard so I put it on 4H and when I was doing a tight turn at slow speed to park I felt like it dragged the rear wheel. Kinda what the truck does with the...
Haha that is exactly my problem, I didn’t get the lockers when I configured mine as I completely skipped the off-road add-ons thinking I would not need them, just to realize later that I should had, and I wish I had added it especially as it was a very cheap option ($800)
And my only option now...
this video showed up on my feed, if you go to minute 4:40 how is that happening without lockers? even if that Cayenne had the optional rear lockers there was no front lockers option. my guess is that the traction control brakes the tire without traction to transfer power to the one on the...
Yes you are correct, what I meant is that even in 4A the front wheels are not always providing traction, the system drives as a 2H and then it switches to 4H if needed.
Thank you very much for your thorough explanations, it is way more clear to me now.
Basically I think the auto transfer case plus differential lockers is a great option to have, even if you never use the lockers the option to put it in 4A if the road is slippery for $1,600 is worth it.
I believe...
Exactly my original point, at least in the Outerbanks it is a very cheap option and I don’t see drawbacks of getting one “just in case, the only one might be more fuel consumption or higher revs at the same speed due to the lower ratio (4.27 vs 3.73) but I don’t think it would be as bad, you...
I owned a cayenne Turbo 1st gen years ago, it was an AWD with a center locking diff (not front nor rear) when I went to the mountains in the winter it was so much fun to drive in the deep snow, those are basically my “off-road” needs, I might try more challenging things now with the Bronco but...
thanks for your responses, is it true that even without an electronic lock diff the traction control uses braking to make the wheel with more traction to move in a scenario where the other one is completely free? so most of the time in casual off road scenarios (or snow/sand) you are not...
Thanks for your throughly explanation, I do know how differentials work on the road, but when I was building my Bronco I didn’t go onto details about the off-road options (and skipped that whole section) because my truck would be basically for on road use BUT why would Ford (or any other brand)...
Hello, this is my first post, I am complete newbie here so please forget my ignorance. My Outerbanks is scheduled to arrive (hopefully) before December is over, I did not order the rear locking differential because honestly, I didn't think I would ever need it, as my car would be basically for...
