@da_jokker I'm a 7/19 res date as well with Walnut Creek Ford and I'm still well over 100 people back from where their MY21 allocation ends. Hopefully I can get a Bronco by 2023...
Ok, so to help folks that don't want to read the entire thread and for my own clarity given all the back and forth... it sounds like the general consensus is if you want a MY22, you should just let your dealer know and NOT convert your reservation in March. Doing this will still hold your place...
I really wish they could expand on the MY22 roof rack issue as I'm struggling to understand how it could get around GVWR beyond just being lighter... I mean how much weight could they actually shave off it if it's weight related?
If it's mount related and something they change on the Bronco...
My neighbor just picked up a new Defender and loves it. After playing around with LR's B&P and not running into any GVWR issues ;), I really wish Ford would have placed the Bronco in this class of vehicles for a variety of reasons even though I get they are targeting the Wrangler and there are...
The interview actually cuts before he addresses the question about being able to order the racks/additional accessories as a dealer install and leaves it as "you cannot order them factory direct"... so I feel there is still more Ford needs to address around GVWR. In theory, a roof rack alone...
I get Ford wants to dethrone the Wrangler but I really wish they had not limited themselves to the same class / GVWR restrictions. I know it's a small thing but it's crazy that you can't have rubber seat backs in a vehicle with washout floors and MGV seats... Ford puts them in the Bronco Sport...
I actually find it interesting to hear why people are bowing out and what they are getting instead. Personally, I've never been interested in a Wrangler and want something with IFS that can hold it's own as an off-road / adventure vehicle. My list is similar in that the only other vehicles, I've...
My build was going to be a 4dr BL w/2.7L Auto, High Package, upgraded 33's & MIC Top. This build went from $51k to almost $55k... and I can't even add a roof rack. Between the price hike and weirdness around GVWR restrictions I'm starting to think about other options...
This feels like the first "accurate" portrayal of CG I've seen. I'm going to go check it out at a local Ford dealer that has a CG Bronco Sport but it definitely looks comparable to Cement Gray Toyota's (just a bit lighter).
Still a cool color but I think it bumps it down to my 3rd choice after...
I would still love more clarity on the GVWR issue. The dynamic roof load is only 110lbs as explicitly stated by Ford so it feels like they are covered from a legal standpoint. Does 110lbs really put it over the limit with the 2.7L engine? You can still add a Warn winch (70lbs), SAS (presumably...
I know the issue with remote start and MT's in the past is a lot of people leave their cars in gear while parked. If you start the car while it is in gear, you will kill the engine since no one is there to engage the clutch.
Honestly Ford, I just want what you showed me in the concepts (like that CG Badlands with the white top or the A51 Overland rig or some combo of the two), with a 2.7L... oh and that pull out tray or even the fold down table would be nice too.
It doesn't seem like too much to ask given how I...
This is definitely giving me some pause as well. I really want a 2.7L Badlands that I can kit out for overlanding but that doesn't sacrifice too much in the way of safety so it feels a bit limiting. I really hope Ford provides a bit more clarity on the GVWR restrictions... I mean the dynamic...
I also just confirmed it only has the 2.3L engine as well... Still super disappointed I can't option out a factory BL to look like this with SAS and the 2.7. Seems crazy you can't get racks, sound deadening, etc just because of the engine. Honestly, I'm a bit concerned about why it's even an...
Can someone please ask a Ford rep how they were able to get that roof rack on the A51 Badlands Overland rig given it has SAS and I believe the 2.7L engine???
(I say this with a heavy dose of sarcasm given we can't build a BL with a roof rack, let alone a RTT that has SAS and/or the 2.7L)
Regarding the Sound Deadening, it looks like you can add it to Big Bend builds with the 2.7L so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with Badlands. Although, in the B&P Ref Guide PDF, it does state that Sound Deadening is not an option in the BL w/2.7L.
The only thing I could think of is if it has...
Thanks for pulling this together! In addition to all the roof rack accessories, sound deadening is also not allowed with the 2.7L on BL.
Also, the pullout tray Ford has been highlighting on all 4dr models is nowhere to be found.
