For those interested in the color, I just received mine today and can confirm they are Code Orange! Here are some photos next to both Fox Orange and Code Orange from the Braptor interior where you can see there is more red in them than the Fox Orange. Overall, they look incredible!
Not sure if this has been thrown out there yet but there has probably never been a better time to buy a Braptor. There are still some '23's out there for $70k-ish. Having gone from a BL to a Braptor, I can tell you it's a significant upgrade.
If a Braptor is not in the cards and you are not in...
@Rockworkx put the order in last week as I had been waiting for Code Orange! Hopefully CO torx T40 forward bolts are coming out as well as I would definitely pick up a set of those when available.
I was just there! I feel like the rates were somewhat reasonable given it's the low season, the lodge is closed and you get a Bronco discount but I wouldn't call it cheap... just lower than the rates I have seen in the past when I first started looking at going to the Moab Off Roadeo.
Here's my...
As with any vehicle it's all about perspective and what you value. Honestly, if I wasn't going to off-road the Braptor and use it as a purpose built adventure vehicle I would have bought something else. That said, the performance and capability of the Braptor straight from the factory is super...
I just upgraded from a '22 Badlands to a '23 Braptor and despite it not being a great financial decision, I would do it all over again. I made a big mistake of not converting a golden ticket and have been regretting it ever since so when prices started falling well below MSRP I jumped on one.
I think the real question is how bad to you want carpeted floors and power seats? If those two items are worth $2k to you then absolutely get the leather.
If you like the washout floors but need leather, you may consider putting the $2k you save with MGV towards something like Katzkin...
Looks good overall - the interior especially. Dropped a deposit on the truck in case I'm feeling it in 2027 as a commuter / family hauler.
I'm also interested to see how the dynamic plays out with Rivian.
This is a great point! For me Cactus Gray, washout floors w/MGV and the Lux Package (for ACC) were all must have's and you don't want to settle at these price points even with slightly better deals out there.
Seems like folks in the market for a new Badlands are the real winners here. Like others have mentioned, I don't think there was a need to differentiate between rock crawling and desert running trims. This became especially apparent when the HD rack was made available for the WT but not the BL...
I just did the same thing!!! Found a new fully optioned 2023 and took advantage of the credits / "deals" out there but to be clear it was not a wise financial decision. That being said, I'm loving the new ride! Ended up selling the Badlands the next day.
Honestly, I really love my 2022 Badlands. It's crazy capable from the factory, the exterior is 10/10 and interior and tech (definitely don't need to go back to analog - sorry), is honestly underrated but I do have some wishlist items:
Merge the Badlands & Wildtrak - There is no need for a rock...
I noticed one of the ADV Tops on @GRIFFINCONWAY 's build and just figured APG had an inside track on sourcing them but it would be amazing if they could help out with production (just hope the price doesn't go up further).
I called APG up a month or two ago to inquire about the MidRunner...
Amazing build - congrats! These APG Broncos look incredible!
I'm in a squatch'd 2022 Badlands and considering the APG MidRunner System for both rock crawling and the desert (I'm in CA as well so it's amazing to have both options). How did the MidRunner System feel compared to the stock Bilstein...
I had a fantastic experience with Shahram from Walnut Creek Ford. They were highly transparent and helpful throughout the entire process and delivery was as seamless as it gets.
I just had this happen to me on the trail over the weekend as well. I was descending in 4L (sway bar disconnected but no GOAT modes), so I put it in 1st via Manual Mode but the section was not so slow I needed to crawl down so I shifted up to 2nd for a bit (while coasting so foot off the gas)...
I would be curious what percentage of the failures had 37's+ vs stock 35's at this point. Regardless, I wish Ford would make the HOSS 3.0 rack upgrade a bit more seamless. I know folks have done it but it feels like it could be a lot easier with some support from Ford for the reprogramming of...
