  1. 2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022]

It must have happened Christmas Eve when we got home. We shut it off after an hour ride on the freeway and didn’t try to start it until the 27th. It was freezing here so I thought it was a dead battery. No codes in Forscan that weren’t related to voltage. It gave us no warning that it was having...
  2. Won’t start in freezing weather

Well it’s a dropped valve. I guess I’m one of the unlucky ones that gets to wait for a new engine. No idea how long it will take.
  3. 2.7L blown engine failure list . . 68 so far [Updated: December 13, 2022]

Make it 20… I just got the call from the dealer that mine dropped a valve. Needs a new engine. No idea how long this will take to get replaced.
  4. Won’t start in freezing weather

It’s off to the dealer on a tow truck. No luck holding a charge on the battery. I bought a bigger charger and ran it to 100%. It only was 62% in the morning. I’ll post the results once the dealer gets back to me.
  5. Won’t start in freezing weather

So Forscan shows the following DTC errors Code: U3003 - Battery Voltage Additional Fault Symptom: - Circuit Voltage Below Threshold Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Passengers Door Control Unit Code...
  6. Won’t start in freezing weather

Would the issue show up in Forscan? I’ve yet to try it, but this could be a golden opportunity.
  7. Won’t start in freezing weather

It was actually just a local tow company that had done a 16 hr day. I’m still curious if they did the jump correctly or if the booster they had was juiced up enough after so many jumps that day.
  8. Won’t start in freezing weather

It’s getting towed this time. I will have my own booster pack and beefier charger for the next round. Seems like they will never replace the battery if I get it running properly and the circumstances can’t be replicated. I hate to have it towed, but I suppose that’s what the warranty is for.
  9. Dead battery, booster pack won't start it

If it makes you feel any better mine is doing something similar in 20 deg weather. I have a separate post going on the matter. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/won’t-start-in-freezing-weather.31836/page-2#post-1070090
  10. Won’t start in freezing weather

They seem solid. Went to try and start and the voltage dropped below 12 for a 10-20 seconds. Now the voltage is barely over 12. The trickle charger is only a 750mA so it’s barely doing anything. Probably a second attempt at a jump from the tow truck before putting it on the flat bed.
  11. Won’t start in freezing weather

I checked with the multimeter shows 12.7 with nothing on, 12.0 with accessory on mode. I’m trickle charging it while I wait for the tow truck. Thanks for the offer to check though!
  12. Won’t start in freezing weather

    It’s a 2.7… fingers crossed it’s just a defective battery.
  13. Won’t start in freezing weather

I parked it Christmas Eve and went to start it Monday morning and no luck. I had Ford roadside assistance out to jump it, but no luck. The battery has 12V so all of the lights etc are working. It makes a light clunk sound when the start button is pressed like the starter is engaging, but no...
  14. Not getting Fordpass points

I called fordpass and they said 20k bonus is in my account, but doesn’t show in app. Apparently the dealer will see the points and be able to access them.
  15. Is the cargo rug worth it or useful in black diamond or badlands with rubber floor?

The washout vinyl flooring is in the rear cargo area as well, but it's not rubbery like the mats you can purchase. I would advise some sort of mat or your cargo will slide all over.
  16. Is the cargo rug worth it or useful in black diamond or badlands with rubber floor?

Worth having something as the vinyl floor is very slippery. I went for the rubber mat.
  17. Black Diamond Bronco Thread

I have a 2dr AMB BD with stock steelies and it looks amazing. I prefer the look to the Sasquatch wheels. Also, the black wheels and AMB are super sexy.
  18. 2022 Badlands Rock Rails - Standard or Not?

Looks like B&P dropped rock rails on all trim levels. I wonder if it’s a glitch or legit change.
  19. Under Hood Sound Deadening

Edit: I installed the sound deadening and it took 13 plugs as reported by @flip. It was a super easy upgrade. Seems to make a bit of difference in the amount of engine noise, but not night and day. I will know more once I hit 1000 miles and get to step on the gas. The sound deadening is more of...
