My BD has done similar squirrely stops. I’m wondering if part of the issue is from my reaction (maybe pulling with my right hand). I’ve also never had a vehicle with this large of tires and short wheelbase so I don’t know what to expect for high speed stops.
I ordered it from a Ford dealer, seems to be the official Redarc TowPro. I’ve noticed the clicking noises before, usually to do with key proximity and possibly just random system checks. This is happening a lot more than without the controller. I’m curious if it has to do with the mid package...
I found that mine got much worse once I installed my trailer brake controller. Not sure if you have one installed, but it seems to me like it’s a brake check or similar. Self diagnosis that never seems to stop.
Does yours cause solenoids to clunk long after the vehicle is off? Mine seems to be going through a send procedure or something similar. Like it’s testing the brakes or for a trailer every 30 seconds. I installed the OEM Redarc onto a BD with tow package. Curious if I’m missing something.
I just went with this installation method. One issue I’m having is after install of the controller the relays under the hood seem to keep cycling long after I shut off the Bronco. It’s the approved factory kit, but not sure if this is normal behavior. Like a trailer sensing feature. I’ve...
My plan that I cancelled was EG Assurance. Not sure about the Ford plans. I didn't pay close attention at the time of purchase as to why it was not a Ford plan, but I guess I'll know for next time.
I believe you could look into cancelling and adding the plans back. You will likely take a hit for some of the months already used. I cancelled my extended warranty (not Ford) and then received the Ford plan free.
It was pretty tight, but you could put dynamat in the hex recesses. The engine noise from the hood is pretty minimal, probably more coming through the firewall. The 2.7 is surprisingly quiet with no added sound deadening.
