I think you are going to be disappointed. I would be very surprised if there is a V8 option. They have said there is going to be a 7 speed manual though.

It seems to me that this is to test the shorter wheelbase and suspension. That is has a Ranger cab and short bed with canopy mean nothing as thy are there for driveability. My guesses anyway.
