I donāt slam the gas every time the light turns green but Iām typically the first one to the next light. Very conscience about letting the engine warm up before I start getting aggressive on the pedal. Roughly half of my miles are spent at 64mph on country highways.
I finally got around to taking my ā21 FE in for the dreaded inspection yesterday. 42k miles. They ran her through the stress test and she passed. š
I was very worried as there were a few of the original failures from my build date.
I was under the hood last year and noticed that something had gotten after the firewall carpeting. Immediately ordered the Mouse Blocker Pro. Haven't noticed any damage since, but I think I'll do the peppermint thing now also. This time of year they are looking for material to nest with.
I also have a '21 and was getting this message every night. I bought the NOCO 10 and followed the instructions in the top post on page 2 of this thread:

Haven't had an issue since.
Pretty much this. It may be rare, but only because very few people ordered them configured that way.
I have a 2dr lightning blue first Edition. They made less than a thousand 2 door FEs. They were prepared to make 3500 of them, people just didnāt order the 2 doors.
I love my Bronco but the way Ford treated my First Edition, dirt mountain hard top claim was ridiculous. It was like talking with an insurance claims adjuster.
Really left a bad taste in my mouth. Very shortsighted to be adversarial with potential future customers over a top THEY KNOW has...
Sucks dude, but I'd smash a window over hiking down the mountain and starting a fire to stay alive surrounded by wild animals, especially with a kid. My wife would probably also tell me to smash a window when I asked her to drive 3 hours š.
