It goes without saying that horsepower is not that important with these vehicles I agree; however the post was started to speculate numbers and to see if the weight to power ratio will exceed the F-150 Raptor Truck, so it was used as a speculation. Having more.power.never hurts in my opinion 🙂.
I guess the reason I'm confused is becaue Ford did say the Bronco Raptor will be 400 hp or more and the Ranger numbers released are 392 hp so my assumption is that the Bronco must have more than 400 hp. How much more, I have no clue. Not sure why these two vehicles wouldn't have the same power...
I don't think there is an official release. I just checked and it looks like the 392 hp and 430 tq are numbers for the Ranger Raptor only. I think we are speculating 400hp and 430 ft lbs for the Bronco but I don't see anything official yet.
I wonder if the Bronco will have a slightly different tune on that 3.0 and different numbers due to the fact that it comes standard with 37 inch tires vs. the 33 inch tires in the Ranger. Did they confirm these numbers are the same for the Bronco or are they still waiting on the official numbers...

Nice, I just don't understand why they didnt release the Bronco numbers yet. This may be a good indication of what may come for the Bronco Raptor. You know what tire size is going to be standard and optional on the Ranger Raptor?
Yah sou
The 392 Jeep is 85k with options at MSRP. Now days you are lucky to get it at MSRP but if you can get it under MSRP that's great. I love the jeep especially that 6.4l HEMI. I think as a package the Bronco Raptor is def better but it also depends on your taste in design. I'm 6'5 so a bit...
If 412 HP is wheel then we can add approximately 15% to get crank which would be around 473. That would be nice and slightly more than the Wrangler in case they just want to dethrone the number.
If they just matched the F-150 Raptor power to weight ratio numbers I would be extremely happy with that decision, nothing more nothing less. If they exceed the numbers I would be even more happy 🙂. I imagine they have to match it at the minimum but I am open to surprises.
The magic power to...
Yep, exactly which is why I have mentioned curb weight in the post. I was just demonstrating that if they want to even be equal with the F-150 Raptor weight to power ratio then the Bronco needs to make 433 hp and 490 ft lbs. I bring this up because the Bronco only weighs roughly about 250 lbs...
Yeah, I can totally see that happening as well but I hope they are at least equal to the F-150 Raptor ratio maybe 435 hp and 490 ft lbs. Keeping my fingers crossed, who knows they could surprise us. The 3.5l Ford GT engine makes 647 hp and 550 ft lbs so anything is possible 🙂.
The Bronco Raptor will have to make significantly more power to offset its weight gain over the Jeep 392. Can the Bronco at least keep up with the existing F-150 Raptor Truck pound per horsepower ratio?
The Bronco Raptor curb weight is 5,773 lbs, the F-150 Raptor curb weight is 5,969 lbs and...
The Bronco Raptor curb weight is 5,773 lbs, the F-150 Raptor curb weight is 5,969 lbs and the Jeep 392 curb weight is 5,103 lbs.
In order for the Bronco Raptor to have the same lbs/1 HP and lbs/ 1 ft lbs of torque ratio as the F-150 Raptor it needs to have 433 HP and 490 ft lbs of torque.
In...
I wonder if and how reliability will suffer if you are squeezing 500 hp and 500 ft lbs of torque out of a 3.0 liter twin turbo charged engine. I hope they at least dethrone the 392 both in hp and tq.
