Protip for people worried about resale: lease your bronco and enjoy lower payments. If you still feel like owning the vehicle in 3/4/5 years, you can buy it out for a pre-arranged price.
Otherwise, with a lease you will only be paying for the depreciation (and only sales tax on depreciation)...
I work in strategy for an Non-Ford OEM and think what Ford is doing is really cool. Toyota isn’t letting you reserve a completely custom built new release and designing products to compete in enthusiast segments.
Building and launching cars is incredibly difficult, doubly so in a once in a...
Can anyone explain if this is right: Since the Bronco will get more horsepower per same unit of fuel with higher octane, does this mean that the higher cost of fuel is offset by higher MPG?
If so, it probably makes sense to use higher octane fuel for the most part, assuming not too much...
I had an insurance claim that was enlightening: Tesla is the only source for parts and often delayed. A minor bumper impact left me in a rental car for 4 months and USAA paid top dollar for those sweet sweet OEM parts.
I ran my VIN at USAA and got around $125/month. Keeping my Tesla Model 3 increases insurance by $150/mo on top of that. I'm probably going to get rid of the Tesla just because of that.
UMCU is a great credit union, they contacted me out of the blue earlier this year about refinancing my Tesla Model 3 and gave me a 1.90% rate.
I need to ask if they will be upset if I pay it off so soon after taking out the loan and starting a new one lol.
Going against the grain here: chances are very high if you don’t have many other constrained items.
I ordered a badlands 4d soft topwith towing package in February and I have a VIN with build date on July 20 (confirmed via calling into Ford). I think it’s 100% possible.
Highly depends, but the posted residuals are pretty good. Leasing gives you some decent optionality to get rid of the car in a few years while keeping your payment down. Some quick playing with a lease calculator shows a money factor that gets you about a 5% APR, which is not good at all.
If...
I hope people realize he is talking to investors about their money. Ford will have a unit hit, but will prioritize a bunch of high margin production so there’s going to be no net impact on Fords earnings.
too long; didn’t read: Ford is increasing prices, so don’t worry, they will be fine
Unpopular opinion, but the "off road use only" vehicles are still ruining air quality, so they should be subject to EPA emissions limits. Emissions are a big deal, and even if the long-term tradeoffs of CO2 aren't a big deal to you, NOX emissions are immediately bad for your health.
The dealer you turn it into doesn't pay for the damage themselves, and if they don't make a big deal of it, they might get a sale. In theory there might be retribution, but generally no.
Obviously if the front end is crumpled in you are going to pay, but a few dings/scratches are absolutely...
The open secret in the industry is that lease loyalty is high, the OEMs and dealers don't want to jeopardize that via nickle and diming you on a lease turn-in. The delta in vehicle sale price is nothing compared to the cost of conquering a customer.
For people who need hard tops: Why not just save ~$695 (and untold months waiting for Ford) on your 4D build and try to buy a hard top aftermarket?
I want a white hardtop to go with my cactus grey build. When I found out it wouldn't be available at launch, I made my peace with the decision to...
I should have mentioned this in my original post: yes, i ordered the bronco basically to take advantage of California's nice weather so over-rotated on getting the best option for going top-down most of the time.
The harshest weather it will see is weekends in Tahoe.
I went with the softtop after seeing the video on the soft top and hard top. Since I don't have a garage, it will be way easier to take the top down on the soft top and I don't need to find a place to store the top.
The backup plan if I hate the soft top is to buy a painted white hard top once...
My reservation was placed February 1 and I got a vin/build date on April 22.
