I'm not underestimating the benefits of a deep aluminium oil pan, but I think you're underestimating ground temperatures near boiling point. There's only so much that passive cooling can do, and I'd rather go the full buck. And yes, I went with Amsoil. Engine's running on Signature series too :)...
It's nearly the same cost as the transmission cooler (which also increases fluid capacity by a quart), and that's without shipping it to an active warzone. I just feel like its gains are far too marginal for it to cost as much as it does, especially for my use case.
P.S. I posted this on the 2.3l Ecoboost engine mods forum, since it's exclusive to the 2.3. But, if the mods think it should be in the transmissions forum, then I hope it can be moved there :)
Genuinely have no idea if anyone's done this before, but considering I couldn't find it anywhere, I'll go ahead and call myself the first (don't prove me otherwise, I'm having fun :( /j )
Due to how hot our summers get over here in Kuwait, with this summer regularly going well over 50 degrees...
Hey, about this: I've got some poor air conditioning performance, and 5 different trips to the dealership for warranty repairs and replacing LP+HP sensors and the whole compressor have resulted in no noticeable improvement. Do you think your AC got any stronger after installing that fan?
Well that's seriously unfortunate. So what would I have to do to mount a transmission cooler? Would I need to get rid of the original heat exchanger and use the thermal bypass valve I showed earlier?
Hi, sorry for the necro-posting, but I've got a 2.3L and I'm trying to get my transmission to deal with the 55+Celsius summer we've been dealing with here in the GCC.
I just bought a Tru-Cool transmission cooler, and from what you're saying the 2.3L does not have the heat exchanger block? Am I...
I'll be honest, I've absolutely never heard of this brand before, but they seem to be a reputable brand abroad, and notably they seem to be the ARB of China. When I checked their website and messaged their Instagram, they seemed to have an air-locker option for the 3.73 gearing, and they even...
Sorry for necroposting, but I thought I'd chime in after a year of running them on my Big Bend with 3.73 gearing. I have 285's and have taken them through mud, sand, and rock crawling alike so here's my review:
First, the elephant in the room: the load rating. To be honest, these aren't the...
Thanks! And, unfortunately, my plan was next to useless. I just grabbed a tape measure and went to town.
And yeah, I always found it weird that people did their seat deletes on the passenger side, but I guess not everyone can be blessed with the gift of height.
