I can only read my email, not anyone else's; so I have no idea what other people's emails from Ford said. Regardless, when I reserved in Sept. '20 and ordered in March '21, I fully expected to be getting delivery in mid to late 2022 based on my dealership's allocation allotment. I expect now...
I think you are right. I reserved 9/26/2020. I ordered 3/6/21. 2-dr BD with advanced x-fer case; no other options.
Small dealer with just under 30 orders at the time and under 10 MY'21 allocations (based on the Sept. 19, 2020 milestone), which automatically put me in a MY '22 delivery...
I reserved in September 2020 after the 19th. September 19, 2020 was the original cut off date FoMoCo used to determine dealership allocation quantities for MY '21 production. That timing put me in for a MY '22 production Bronco based on my dealer's original allocation allotment from Ford.
I...
Yes, it's on the Ford Bronco page, provided in the language of an email from Ford to me when I was notified the meet with my dealer to reorder for MY '22, and confirmed by my dealer when I reordered for MY '22.
But it is price-protected for MY '22 if it was standard trim for MY '21. My 2022 Black Diamond with the Modular bumper option is the same price as my original MY '21 BD. No harm no foul on FoMoCo's part.
Thanks for posting. My exact build except for paint. 60MPH stopping distance was grossly exaggerated in prior threads, 132 feet from 60 MPH is not terrible.
A $900 set of 33s will fit on the BD steelies, so If I think I need 33s, I'm covered. Sasquatch for a 4-cyilnder manual transmission BD rig, which wasn't an option in MY '21, is an extra $6,000 for MY '22. I think that is a bit too steep for a few inches in lift (mostly from tires) and fancy...
I spec'd a Black Diamond. I need it mostly to get in or out of my property when the river hits flood stage. But I'll run the fire roads around my hood, which is the Shenandoah National Park. I think a locking diff is necessary for off road use regardless of the terrain level. My YJ had open...
Back in the day, as you know, we had to actually buy a service manual book (OMG REAL paper) for the cars we owned. Chilton's, Bentley, Clymer and the like never suggested the procedure as far as I remember.
I kid you not, and I've been wrenching on my own cars and motorcycles for over 40 years, I really just figured that out like 10 years ago. I have a full dedicated auto shop too, lift, air tools, the whole bit.
LOL
The better way is to simply buy a $10 piston retraction tool and open the bleeder valve on the caliper and dump the small amount of fluid into a catch bottle (e.g. like when bleeding the brakes). That procedure eliminates forcing the fluid backwards into the master cylinder/ABS unit.
