It's not a lie if it was the truth at the time the statement was made. Plans change. I'm not saying that the pan design changed, but it's certainly a possibility.
I, myself, didn't take his post as asking for sympathy. What I saw was someone wanting to verify how many more chances they get before being bumped to MY23. And I'd say he has a fair chance of being built as a MY22. I ordered the same build as his AFTER he did, except my engine is the 2.7L, and...
Great video! My wife and I usually hit Gatlinburg each July and hike Mt. LeConte (among other trails), but skipped it this year. We've talked about taking the Bronco next year, but now I have my doubts. LOL!
On a similar note (and this should date me), when I was fresh out of high school, the J.C Whitney catalog was my dream book that I spent hours scouring and circling accessories with a marker. LMAO!
Hate to read that! I did the exact same thing to a small buck while driving my Jeep XJ in October 2010. I replaced the front bumper with a heavy duty steel one with a hoop from JCR Offroad. I suggest that you get some similar protection up front. Good luck!
I'm pretty sure that there is no price protection for someone who ordered a MY22 early and gets bumped to MY23. They are price protected from mid-year increases, but not next year increases.
That said, I've seen quite a few 12/21 orders get scheduled recently, so I'd at least hold out another...
Lol! I'm just having fun anyway, as I've never owned a turbo, but my reading suggests that the larger factory fill is due to the turbos and lines needing initial fills
Yes, but only on the initial fill at the factory. Draining your oil pan does not drain those lines or turbos. The turbo could hold 55 gallons, but only 6 quarts is coming out when you drain the oil pan.
Because Ford is saying that ALL the factory sticks have always correctly measured 6 quarts, and that they only read over full upon delivery due to the factory service fill.
The turbo(s) and lines are covered by the factory fill. That residual oil doesn't come out when you remove the oil pan's drain plug. So, both the 2.3L and the 2.7L could have the same oil pan capacity even with differing turbo set-ups.
My guess is that Ford made a big deal about 7-quart pans...
I know member flip (who is a dealer here) priced everything to put a MIC top together a few months ago, and it was $10K. Prices may have possibly come down some, but expect to still pay over $7K.
I've been driving a 1996 Jeep XJ daily for 19 years. LOL!
My aversion to modern electrical technology isn't just engine related, but rather the vehicle in its entirety. My personal opinion is that electrical components are probably going to fail sooner rather than later, so the less I have of...
Congratulations! Be sure to check into the 8/29 build week thread:

By the way, there are a half dozen Everglades builds in that thread, not counting yours.
