  1. Miller Hill / Mineral Basin UT trip in my Badlands

Note to self: If ever buying a used Bronco, take a look underneath for frame damage!
  2. 2021 + 2022 Bronco Colors Lineup (Gas Can Examples)

"Cyber orange" has never looked more yellow.
  3. What's your back-up plan?

I considered other options - A Ranger to hold me over (pricey for what I'd like and not easy to come by), and older used pickup (ranger / F150), but prices even for pretty old stuff is ridiculous right now, and a Defender 110. The Defender should be off the boat in ~5 days and in my hands by...
  4. Painful (but responsible) solution to MIC issue decided. Announcement imminent.

My only regret is holding out until June to order something else. I guess, at the least, I could switch to a Bronco at the same price until '23 if I don't like what I ordered. What a disaster. I mostly feel bad for my Ford dealer, who are all good people and are missing out on business.
  5. Who's ready to tap out?

The only issue with this idea is even prices on beater cars have gone up, so you're going to spend a few grand that you'll never get back when you sell it in a year (or more?) when the Bronco finally arrives. Seems like a bad deal. I was considering something like this and "beaters" were so...
  6. An Unsurprising But Sad Update for Tesla Cybertruck Fans: Production Has Been Pushed to 2022

You're going to be waiting a LOOOONG time for true "full self-driving", though if you just mean what Elon calls "full self-driving" (which isn't even close), then yeah, you'll probably eventually see that.
  7. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Nobody actually wants that once they realize what that would mean to prices. Customers want things to be cheap, and shareholders want as much profit as possible.
  8. FJ, Bronco or Range Rover?

Goodyear Wranglers are an option, or standard if you get the off-road pack. I'd still prefer KO2's, though.
  9. Hot off the press… constraints on modular front bumper, 2.3L engine, 10-speed auto transmission and 4x4 system

It's either it's just bad luck, the windshield angle, or the thickness of the glass Ford uses, but my current Escape has had two windshields replaced in 5 years for cracks, and the thing is a chip / scuff magnet in general. I'm trying to drive it as little as possible until I get my replacement...
  10. [TFL] Can a Sasquatch Bronco Keep Up With a Modded Wrangler & Defender When It Gets Serious Off-Road?

Gotcha - I watched some of the video but I'm at work and no speakers in my present location, so I missed out on some of the details. It had looked like all they did was the sliders, wheels, and smaller lift than it actually was. I've considered swapping to 18's and mounting 33's when I get mine...
  11. [TFL] Can a Sasquatch Bronco Keep Up With a Modded Wrangler & Defender When It Gets Serious Off-Road?

How heavily modified is the Defender? It looks like they added the rock sliders, did the conversion for 18-inch wheels, and put a lift on. That's about $4600 extra, plus whatever tires you choose.
  12. Bronco production update 8/3: More downtime expected weeks of 8/16 and/or 8/23

Oh, they definitely won't reply. If anything, they're probably just mad that this "update" leaked out. They lose control of the narrative this way.
  13. 8/2 Bronco Scheduling Cancelled - Again!

Two things... They're calling something "snazzberry"!? That price makes the Defender and it's options in that price range seem like a steal. YMMV.
  14. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

"I don't care!" "Peace and love!" *insults* 🤨🧐😒
  15. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

I think it's tough to do an apples-to-apples comparison based on price, based on what is "lux" to Ford vs what is "SE" to Land Rover (for example). In general, the Defender comes with a LOT more stuff standard. The Badlands I ordered was about $56k - Badlands, 2.7, MIC, lux, leather, tow. The...
  16. 8/2 Bronco Scheduling Cancelled - Again!

They could still blame a lot of this on Hackett since he was still running things until October of last year. Maybe he was all-in on approving the Webasto deal? Have we checked his stock holdings? :cautious:;)
  17. Compared to a Defender - some general thoughts and concerns.

Three thoughts: 1) I'm curious how this works out on a Bronco that's closer to $60k (optioned Badlands) than $45k. 2) I've never purchased a car with residual value in mind. I buy what works for me and makes me "happy". YMMV. 3) This chart seems odd. Three vehicles all with the same price...
  18. Land Rover Defender “Trophy Edition”

Pangea green D110 P400SE. Off-road / advanced off-road packs, ClearSight rear-view mirror, adaptive cruise, black interior, heated/cooled seats. I didn't get too overly crazy, and ended up building something optioned how I wish the Bronco was (would love more advanced tech available in the...
  19. Land Rover Defender “Trophy Edition”

Eh. I have zero concerns with gravel roads, or dirt roads. I'd be comfortable with anything but (as I said), rock crawling. Part of off-roading is knowing the limits of your skills and your rig. I'm not aware of anyone who is actually going to go wheeling that wouldn't think twice before doing...
