That output goes to the four /7 pin connector. Out of curiosity, if you unplug that, does the four pin still work?

I'm suggesting you probably did not actually get the correct tow module installed but only got the four pin module. From a wiring perspective, what you're saying should not be possible with the correct install.

I guess I need more information because they're derived from the same plug, the wiring is exactly the same for those sources. Did you have a third party module for the four pin? If you're using the Ford 4/7 pin controller, I don't see how that would even be possible under standard practices.

The brake controller (Ford/Redarc) do not really interface with the vehicle (ie talks sync). It's only there to provide a separate variable/ settable controls to the trailer brakes. There is no additional programing for or assorted with it.
