I have the Corsa with the high clearance option, looks close to factory.... if you're worried about not losing clearance. I'm running the 2.3 and it sounds great.... no drone, not raspy, doesn't sound "like a Honda" which a lot of people keep using as a reference point. Not too loud either...

Light is basically showing you the requested state, not necessarily its status at that moment... Mine has done the same thing... Unless it becomes really inconsistent or inaccurate I wouldn't be worried.

Less than paint. Goal would be to avoid scratches in the first place if possible. More than likely anything bad enough to make white vinyl look that rough, you'd have paint damage beyond buffable.

It should read that Auto is easier off road in the most extreme scenarios (aka skill is key). Every ounce of control I can have is what I want, for most of the driving experience, so manual for me.
