  1. 🛠 8/9 build week thread

Does the mean that they're going to hold all the current hard tops until then? Or are there some tops that are passing inspection still?
  2. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

There seems to be a decent bit of movement in the 7/19 group this week, perhaps we'll see ours move next week? *Disclaimer: This is an evergreen post and will automatically, without any further action by the poster, refer to the following week until the end of time.
  3. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

Please see any thread on bronco6g.com, you'll get your angst needs filled there.
  4. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

Well we know they're still producing, the question is whether they're going to be shipping. The really scary rumor is that anything with a bad top (which new builds may or may not have) will be held back until a replacement is found, if ever.
  5. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

I have a feeling anything like this is going to be massive skewed towards people still in production. This is a great community, but I'm going to be spending a lot less time on here when/if I actually get my bronco.
  6. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Yeah this is the question I most want answered - are they pumping out these things with a 50/50 chance the roofs are bad, or are the roofs they're installing now issue free? Seems silly to continue making anything with a MIC if they aren't even sure they'll be able to ship them.
  7. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

See this is what I don't understand - if there really is an issue with these tops, such that there is a substantial chance that they won't be able to send them out, why even build these?
  8. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

    How did your modules change?
  9. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

Also have roof rails, hoping this is the same for me. I just really have a hard time believing that they would continue pumping out 2drs after the shutdown if they had no intention of shipping them out in the near term.
  10. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

I mean this seems like the easiest solution, right? Though if Ford ships it then maybe they have to pay Webasto for it, and they don't want to do that. Another solution would be, for 4 doors, to just slap a soft-top and provide a credit for when the hard top becomes available. For 2 doors, I...
  11. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Considering the number of 2drs sitting out there, I have to imagine its something specific to those cars. Other than the MIC top, are there any drivetrain or other parts that are specific to the 2drs?
  12. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Serious question - why would they continue to build cars requiring those roofs if they weren't sure how many were usable? It seems silly to even continue building 2drs at this point if they're thinking they might have to mothball them altogether and build all new ones in 6 months.
  13. Bronco production update 8/9: Commodity issues far beyond MIC tops. Chip shortage reaches Bronco supply chain (NO COVID TALK)

Do we know if the issue that got the early cars into purgatory have been fixed? Are they really continuing to build cars knowing that they're going to get stuck on a lot for months? That seems like a tremendous waste of resources.
  14. Who's a 7/19 build?

    From VinnyG's post on page 256 of this thread: Shipped Broncos by Doors: 4 doors = 31 (13 delivered) 2 doors = 3 (2 delivered) Unknown = 2 (2 delivered)
  15. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

It's certainly more of a headache for Ford to address if the top is delivered and a manufacturing defect is discovered once in the hands of the customer, both from a logistical and a PR standpoint. I have to imagine, though, that Ford's contract with Webasto puts the costs of replacing...
  16. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

If it's a comfort to anyone, it seems like a few 2drs and MICs have been shipped from the 7/19 crew.
  17. Who's a 7/19 build?

For those of you with 2drs and/or MIC tops, how long after production did you get notifications that your car was built and/or shipped? Inquiring minds in the 8/2 group would like to know.
  18. 🛠 8/2/21 build Week Thread

7/19's chart seems to show some MIC tops being shipped, at least I thought.
