When I said width I wasn't talking offset but wheel width. You should keep the offset reasonable but also stay in a reasonable wheel width. A 285 or 295 tire is as wide as I'd go.
Base should be able to fit 32" tires no problem and with lift go well beyond that.
The rubber band thing isn't my thing, but I'd assume there's a tire thats ~32" tall for a 24" wheel. That gives you 4" of sidewall.
Biggest thing is gonna be wheel width and offset. Seems most people who do the...
Ima be honest, I dont think the bronco is for you then.
The capability of the Hyundai is in towing/payload. But its still a midget truck, so good luck seeing around the trailer without bolt on tow mirrors. Or fitting whatever heavy thing into the tiny bed.
The broncos capability aspect is...
I agree, but electric trucks are brand new. Itll be awhile until there's a standardized test. Look how long it took to get a standardized test for towing numbers. Wasn't that long ago the manufacturers just made up numbers to beat the competition year after year.
You're comparing an unibody Hyundai compact pickup with independent suspension and well... Hyundai build quality to the bronco? Maybe the bronco sport. But the big bronco?
There is no standardized test for range while towing. So Ford would be crazy to publish numbers. What if Ford does the test factoring 5% grades, Toyota does the same test but only 3% grades. All consumers will see is the Toyota getting better range while towing and buy that while they don't know...
It wouldn't really matter. The road you're on, traffic, even what time of the year (trees dead or got leaves, flowers blooming or covered in snow, etc etc) and so on all make a difference in the noise you'll hear. Sound meter would only be useful if you were following behind them.
One of the cool things about this 10 speed is itll lock the torque convertor in 1st gear at near idle speed. Itll maintain lockup through gear changes as well.
I think its an issue of the 2.3 not being explicitly designed for turbo use, and the 2.7 is.
So the 2.3 already rolls off the line with a vacuum pump and the 2.7 doesn't.
In the past Ford has used the torque figure to represent maximum input. However with the 10 speed it appears the torque number is for the expected torque. Or nominal amount. Look at the f350 diesel using a 10r140
This is likely due to slower shifts. Slipping the clutches and bands longer between gear changes. Makes for a nice drive to church, but IMO not ideal on an offroad truck. With the goat modes the shift strategy changes should fix that though.
A base bronco will blow away the Ridgeline. The Ridgeline doesn't even have low range last I checked, nor does it truly lock in 4wd. The 4wd clutch will burn up if you take a Ridgeline offroading. Approach, breakover, and deproach angles on the Ridgeline are awful. Suspension travel is shit. Its...
