Most minivans are slower than a Bronco short of AMG performance stuff. Bronco with a basic ProCal tune is in the 6s. They may not be speed demons but for 5500 pounds of off-road freedom machine, that really is pretty good acceleration...
It may be a 4 banger but 300hp is hardly “no go”. Never thought there would be a “stripe police” subset in the Bronco forum. What’s next? Only people who actually go to Baja can have lights or it’s a waste?
Only reason I’m buying the Ford Performance tune. Shifting that isn’t complete dog poop. Hoping it resolves the main problem.
Bar graph RPM gauge decimal driven. Just WTF.
I hate the RPM gauge (bar graph ?) so much I didn’t even look to be honest. I assume top of the arc. 4500-5000 I’ll try it again and see. I moved to 91 to see if that is a factor.
10 speeds auto doing its own shifting
I’m 500 miles into ownership bought used with 4500 miles. The engine seems to lose its mind if you try to accelerate WOT. Shift 3/4 usually results in same strange stutter like it blew off all the boost then a bad shift then continue.
More like a mis-remembering of the Paul Bunyan story. His big blue Ox was actually named Babe but I always thought he should have just named him BLUE. So it was “Ole Blue” or a completely ancient reference from Romancing The Stone that no one would have gotten. That Bronco reference was “My...
A gas tank large enough to last a week or more. I’m seeing 266 to empty each time I fill up my 2 door. That’s with 17.5 mpg indicated on stock Sas BB with 2.3L.
I’ll try the Sport mode but all I noticed with it is that it holds gear longer and shift at higher RPM. Foot to the floor in my 2.3 with 10 speed has pulsing and lag shifting. It’s pretty horrid.
