Yeah they’re super easy to fix if you realize you did it for sure. Another way to screw that pooch is pulling it apart by accident then jamming it back in there and thinking it’ll stay without removing the boot and doing it right. 100% of the time you pull it apart that snap ring is laying in...
Guessing whoever installed the lift (assuming spacer?) pulled the inner cv joint apart and either didn’t notice or didn’t fix it correctly and it worked its way loose until it jammed and broke turning in reverse just by chance. Just a 2 second zero analysis guess. Where’d it break?
Yeah they’re 100% just beauty rings.. only half the bolt holes of a real bead lock ring among other dead giveaways. Mostly just concerned with their deceptive advertising though perhaps there’s a language barrier
Just have to measure the wear on the other 4 and see if it’s within spec of the 5th one. Mileage and wear aren’t always directly related. Any more than 2 or 3/32’s difference and I probably wouldn’t do it
Most people’s only halfway legitimate argument for a hi-lift are that they can’t get their vehicle off the ground with anything else. That simply isn’t true you just don’t know how or don’t have the right jack. A good bottle jack will work just fine and I’m substantially lifted and currently run...
Not to mention no lifting points without something aftermarket..
But “overlanders gotta look overland”.. could probably even find one with a matching shovel to mount next to it and the unused traction boards
If you had an alignment done at a Ford dealer I’d DEFINITELY go somewhere else to verify lol in January of 2023 I tried getting an alignment done at Parks Ford in Hendersonville NC after installing a lift and the post-alignment report showed all they adjusted was toe. When we pressed them to ask...
I’ve seen more than 1 remote reservoir completely fall off of the shock body. I believe its a bad connection that’s rusts and eventually deteriorates enough to leak then break/fall off
Mileage won’t cause cupping on a healthy setup.. If you’re truly getting cupping I’d look at suspension. Could start with an alignment at an actual mechanic (not jiffy lube) and go from there. Some place that does tires too so they can balance them
Are you advertising these as functional Bead locks? Or as replacement colored “beauty rings”.. cause it sure seems like the former when they’re obviously not real bead locks. I’d be careful how you’re marketing these so no one thinks they can run them set up as real bead locks and kills...
Glad you said it - only real spot for it is on your person.
That said I fabricated a holster mount that I literally never use but sits there for a special occasion i guess. I’m appendix carry 365 (pun intended) days a year. FWIW my FAK doesn’t sit there anymore either.. its Velcro’d onto the...
Ah age old 5 tire vs 4 tire vs mileage vs cost debate.. Much like the moon it comes around at very regular intervals.
That said - other than going longer between buying tires (albeit when you do its more expensive) if you do a 5-tire you can do it with a single jack and never have more than 1...
100% if it’s pluggable I’ll be plugging it. I’d be done and driving away before I even got the spare off for sure. Hopefully it was pluggable..
Your unique case is totally different from an aesthetic perspective.. but his just looks goofy. Nobody asked me though
It was likely “never the same after” if he didn’t take it apart enough to make sure the snap ring was back in place holding everything where it belongs. When you pull a CV apart the balls jump over the snap ring and/or pull it out of place
You’re going to have to remove the boot to get it back together right.. there’s a ring in there you need to get in place and ain’t nobody doing that with the boot attached. You can easily do this without removing the inner half from the diff or if you’d rather do it on your work bench you can...
I made the mistake of thinking DD were high end and well shielded.. as they come with a relatively premium price tag. I like the lights in general and they do produce decent output but In the end every Diode dynamics pod I’ve ever owned (from SSc2 pods, SS3’s and 5’s) have all produced such...
I realize judging by tire choice dirt/mud might not be your thing but IMO pristine clean looks weird. Maybe not as weird as forward-facing rear mud flaps tho
Maybe… but it’s gonna look goofy as heck. I don’t even really like 37x12.5 as they look too skinny so going 37x13.5 when these wear out.
that said even at 11.5 I’m guessing you’re going to have issues without a 0 offset and cutting your crash bar stubs off. The only part of the JKS kit you NEED...
