That's from some numb nuts over tightening the bolt and pulling it through the metal. Common sense should tell you to stop turning the ratchet when the bolt gets hard to move 🙄😆
You don't unless someone is selling them 2nd hand. All of the places that had the good quality ones were shut down by Ford. There are acrylic ones but the quality is pretty bad on them.
To me it looks like the bolt was way overtightened and it pulled the silver backing bolt that you slide into the hole through the metal. It's also possible the brackets that are bolted to the hinge were put on backwards and it put awkward tension on it. There definitely isn't enough force in the...
I installed hood struts from Mabett today. No issues installing and I really like how they look like they came stock on the Bronco. They keep the hood pretty much the same height as the prop rod does. Great design at about half the price as others on the market.

You should take it. I tried the regular torx on my modular bumper. That was a bad idea as it started to strip the head. Don't skimp out on the right tool for the job. I got a whole set of torx plus bits for about $12 on Amazon.
I spent a good hour checking mine. My dealer did little to no pre delivery stuff. I'm glad I went through the checklist I posted because my passenger wiper wasn't even bolted on and flew up onto the hood when I turned them on.
I'd be interested if it covered the whole thing like mentioned above. Also, for it to have an easy solution to remove and replace the hard top without drilling into the latches like on the gearshade. The gearshade is probably the best I've seen but I'm not drilling into my latches.
