Thanks for the reply. That's the conclusion I was coming to. I certainly don't want to mess with the factory upfitter switch wiring. My intent was also to use this to keep the boards down when washing the boards - but this configuration is not allowing me to do this. I may end up...
Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. Let us know when preordering opens.
I revived this thread because the I ran into this situation about a week ago here in Colorado. I ruined a credit card when I had to stop and scrape the ice from the headlights!
OK, I'll answer my own question! I tried it, It does not work!
After some study and actually trying to hook up an upfitter switch to control the on/off switch of the power steps I've found it will not work unless there would be a way to modify the wiring to the upfiter switch itself. The...
Has anyone used one of the upfitter switches as the on/off switch for the RC electric running boards? The switch provided simply attaches to the dash with double sided tape. I'd rather not do that!
The switch appears to control a ground, not power so hooking up to an upfitter switch would...
I have an auto so I don't know for sure, but that looks like it takes a Torx/Star bit and not an Allen?? You may be lucky you did not strip the entire bolt head.
That said, the new knob looks great!
Then you'll need to hook them up to the upfitter switches. This is a better option anyway. With the headlight switch the fogs will turn off when you go to high beams. With the upfitter switches the fogs will stay on.
Sounds like you were aware of your current limits! But this is a great way to learn. Too many noobies jump right in over their skill level and get themselves in trouble. You don't want to be "that guy" on the trail! A Raptor (or any Bronco) is only as capable as the driver.
Run a sharp pencil along the crack. You will feel a small chip even if you cant see it if the crack is from a chip. Without a chip that started the crack it will feel smooth the entire crack. Chances are you will find a chip.
The low temps are certainly a factor in the crack whether from a...
Mine has intermittent interruptions at times. Sometimes it’s directional - i.e. I’ll turn to the East and get interruptions, turn back north and it clears up! I do have a half rack the issue is worse with snow build up. I switch to Apple Music when it happens!
Sounds like you engaged it when your steering was already at the lock position?? If so this is not the best way to do it. Turn it on BEFORE your steering is locked left or right. In fact you can keep it on and it will automatically engage when you hit the lock position either direction.
I watched the reveal live. The exterior stying is pretty good and the nods to the original Scout I thought were subtle and tasteful. But the coolest feature is the mechanical compass!! Pure genius!
I did not care for the dash layout - the long row of buttons reminded me of a 50's Chrysler or...
