  1. I thought the new bronco was gonna look like this

Yep, this is unfortunately the case. Especially now that even torque converter autos have better performance than a manual, to say nothing of DCTs. Manual transmissions being offered are a bone being thrown to enthusiasts. The C7 corvette had one of the highest manual take-rates in the...
  2. 2021 Bronco Maverick (Baby Bronco) Interior First Spied Look!

I agree that this one isn't as bad, but it looks like at least a third of the screen sticks up above the dashboard on its own which is what I don't like. If they want the big screen sticking up, I'd prefer that it was at least integrated into a cowl or something like the gauge pods on older jdm...
  3. First (Actual) 2021 Bronco U725 Prototype SPIED!!

I don't want to tow a lot with a Bronco, but I think many of us would like being able to bring a small trailer along with us to tow a SxS, snowmobile, small camper, whatever. Personally I'd like the ability to put my Vette on a trailer and tow it if I wanted to. Around 5500lbs would be perfect...
  4. I thought the new bronco was gonna look like this

You are aware that they are going to stop selling cars in north america apart from the mustang, right? CUV/SUV/Truck only going forward. It would make sense for them to have plans to convert the mustang name into something different a la Mach E. Not saying it's a good thing, but it makes sense.
  5. 2021 Bronco Maverick (Baby Bronco) Interior First Spied Look!

Didn't like the screen placement on the Escape, don't like it here. I've never been a fan of screens that stick up out of the dashboard.
  6. All arguments for the Broncos features

I'd rather have the 2.7 and an auto than the 2.3 and a manual, personally. If the only options were 2.3 (with manual available) or complicated 3.0 hybrid stuff, I'd probably go for the 2.3 but not be super happy about it.
  7. All arguments for the Broncos features

I can't really see the Raptor/R/Rock Monster/whatever top of the line version coming in significantly below a Rubicon Wrangler. Hopefully they give some reasonable options for those who want to pay less, but that's around what I'm expecting to spend.
  8. All arguments for the Broncos features

For me to even consider purchase it needs to have: - TTV6 or better - IFS - 2 Door with short overall length - Reasonable ground clearance and suspension travel (~10" or better) From everything we've seen and heard, I'm not too worried about any of those. The stuff that I'm less sure about is...
  9. Car and Driver 4 door renders

True, though not all mustangs have a hyper-aggressive face, and the Raptor is the halo of the F150 model, which are also not generally as aggressive. There may yet be a 'halo' Bronco model like the GT500
  10. The Clutch Gang

It means the manufacturer certifies that it can handle 405ft-lbs of torque for the standard time period. Or something like that. For us it essentially means you'll never see it mated to an engine that produces more than 405ft-lbs from the factory.
  11. First (Actual) 2021 Bronco U725 Prototype SPIED!!

LR3 was around 113" wheelbase, so that's probably not far off overall. Definitely shorter overhangs on the Bronco proto than the LR3 though, especially in the back. And the roof will be more like the front of the LR3 all the way back I would think.
  12. Visual estimate of 2021 Bronco wheelbase and size (112 inch wheelbase guesstimate)

Personally I want the wheelbase and total vehicle length as short as possible. <100" for sure. So if it comes in around 2 door wrangler that would be great. Guess we'll wait to see a 2 door prototype, hopefully we won't be waiting too long.
  13. The Clutch Gang

Yeah, if the big motor only comes with auto I'll go auto. The 10 speed with paddle shift like in the raptor is not bad, but given the option of taking a manual I'd still prefer that.
  14. Visual estimate of 2021 Bronco wheelbase and size (112 inch wheelbase guesstimate)

This was the only side-on shot of the 2 door frankenranger afaik. Looks about right to be 2-door wrangler sized.
  15. The Clutch Gang

I'm definitely onboard for manual unless for some reason the manual isn't offered in the high performance version.
  16. First (Actual) 2021 Bronco U725 Prototype SPIED!!

I think it goes without saying that wikipedia is no more reliable of a source than all of the news articles out there, but the manual transmission that goes in the Bronco is supposedly going to be a seven speed.
  17. U725 2021 MY Ford Bronco Information

Hey if it was important enough to try to erase... Thanks for relaying the tidbit to the rest of us who weren't fast enough.
  18. U725 2021 MY Ford Bronco Information

I feel like a whole lot of us have missed something here
  19. 'Intelligent four-wheel drive' (AWD) option?

I'm really hoping that we'll see the same transfer case as the Raptor with the clutch based auto 4wd setting in addition to the fully locked 4H and 4L. If it's rugged enough for the Raptor I don't see why it can't be in the Bronco at least as an option. I believe that's the same transfer case as...
