  1. Electric Hummer teaser

Solar on an overlander could potentially provide your power to run things like the A/C or accessories while you're stopped instead of further depleting the main battery. Useful, but not going to add to the range the actual vehicle could travel.
  2. Bronco Pickup Truck

Wouldn't this with an extended cab just be a supercab Raptor? You can already buy those.
  3. Ford becomes "Official Vehicle" of King of the Hammers; does this mean Bronco will be there?

I'm also definitely in the high speed camp, hence my preference for IFS. KOH is interesting to observe though, because it's one of the few places both disciplines come together.
  4. Ford becomes "Official Vehicle" of King of the Hammers; does this mean Bronco will be there?

The interesting thing about KOH is it's one of the few events where IFS and SFA rigs both compete in the same classes and are on fairly equal footing. The IFS rigs are faster in the desert sections, and the SFA rigs can bash through the rocks faster, but both types do both parts. The overall...
  5. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

You're right, the front and rear control arms are both at a slight angle on the 'rugged' one vs parallel on the 'stock' one. Good catch
  6. Electric Hummer teaser

Well, they actually went and did it. I'm still surprised they're going for a pickup rather than a big SUV which would seem to be the better target market for a Hummer revival. I'll be interested to see how it plays out, but...not at all interested in the vehicle itself.
  7. Ford becomes "Official Vehicle" of King of the Hammers; does this mean Bronco will be there?

I hadn't expected there to be a Bronco (or 'Bronco' if it's another race prototype) there...but now, maybe. Would certainly be a heck of a way for them to prove versatility in different off-road environments...so long as it actually finishes this time!
  8. Bronco Super Celebration Reveal?

Yeah, this is my working theory. Actual reveal will be shortly before NYIAS, so beginning of April or very end of March, at a private Ford event. Then it will show up at NYIAS and also this Bronco super celebration. That then explains why people think it's going to be revealed at those events...
  9. 2021 Bronco engines - I need at least a V6

I'd begrudgingly accept the auto with the bigger engine over the manual so long as it had a full manual mode with paddle shift and those nice magnesium paddle shifters from the raptor. Unless it's a hybrid. I'll be pretty disappointed if the 'raptor' is hybrid only, then I might start looking at...
  10. Bronco Maverick Name Confirmed in Ford Parts System?

Honestly it would make sense to me for them to use the Maverick name for essentially a restyled ecoboost mustang. The ecostang with the performance pack is a great, properly fun little car, lighter in the nose than the V8 and therefore more nimble, but with all the performance goodies of the GT...
  11. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

I think there's a good chance of it being the 2.7 at least as an option. Should have no problem spinning those tires
  12. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

The only thing I can think of with tires this tall that is a production SUV that you could just go out and buy today is the G-Wagon 4x4 squared. Comes with 325/55 R 22 tires, which are 36" tall. Plus, portal axles! Downside: $200k.
  13. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

Agreed. I always want my vehicles to be wider than they are tall if at all possible. Wrangler Rubicons in stock form just baaarely pass that test. Hopefully the Bronco gives a little bit better ratio. Comes down to how low that roof ends up being.
  14. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

To add to the tires, this definitely seems to be a higher trim level. Previous prototype looks to be halogen lights, where this is LEDs.
  15. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

Front and rear fenders both look plumped out/ widened to me, at least an inch or two.
  16. ⊙⊙ How Big Do You Like Them? ⊙⊙

I think in light of the prototype running around with 34s we may want an option for those here too
  17. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

Yeah, I think there's padding at the top of the hood. The final thing shouldn't be flat across like this, we should be expecting fender ridges and a raised section of the hood in the middle I think:
  18. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

Is this actually lifted in the suspension vs the previous prototype? Or just riding higher because of the significantly larger tire? I can't tell tbh
  19. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

Yeah, options are good, I can see why lockers are desirable for the slow speed folks. Torsens are fantastic in the snow but only if you're moving, vs a front locker works from a stand-still but will make your rig just refuse to turn at any sort of speed. The front + rear torsens in my Mistubishi...
  20. Newly Spied: 2021 Bronco in Rugged Trim!

Is this actually based on anything or purely speculation? I'm still hoping for rear locker, front Torsen like the Raptor myself.
