Only complication is I ordered thru one dealership with a courtesy delivery to another near me. (Father in law buys a lot of Fords and is friends with GM of dealership we ordered thru). It’s several states away. I’ll call tomorrow and find out where it is.
edit… dealership 1 is less than 20...
So we have a tracker that says
“ Built, Your vehicle has been built and we are arranging shipment to your dealer. This step could take a few days to a week. Select the "Learn About Your Vehicle" link for information and videos about your new vehicle.”
does that mean it has all of its chips...
A long list of Modules are now showing!! Is there a way to know if the car has everything it needs or it's missing something (i.e. a chip) and will sit?
I'm not sure what to believe at this point. The tracker stopped working, the plant is closed, open, closed, open a little.... And the "Ice Mountain" has cars built but waiting on "Chips", delivery dates for cars built in January..... May, maybe... But wait someone just recieved a car built in...
to be clear, I wasn’t suggesting ford set the price. Rather Ford require a purchase order or whatever format commits the dealer and customer to a purchase WITH a price. This would force the dealer to come to an agreement with the customer or lose the associated allocated car.
Bottom line. Ford put a reservation system in place that had zero alignment to the sales process. Worse, they stated they it would be FIFO from the reservation date/time stamp... when the reservation between a customer and FORD is nonexistent. So yeah, FORD owns this hot mess.
Hindsight 2020...
My tracker shows in production and window sticker has 2/7 blend. Is there a way online to see what’s happening and/or if my build is getting paused for chips?
Ford owns this issue by taking reservations directly and then allowing dealers to manipulate the sale long long after the fact.
Hindsight 20/20 but Ford should have instructed all dealers to price the car before converting the order or allowing a customer to then ’shop’ their reservation...
Got the email a week or so ago. Click the track button, loads a ford web page with my order number and VIN populated. Click that accept and track button and sometimes I get the tracking page with details and sometimes the page just refreshes and blanks out my order and VIN. Happens on an iPad...
Hi everyone. Hope this isn’t a duplicate ask. My Father In Law has a great relationship with Ford dealer near him in another state. So I ordered thru his dealership. He’s friends with another dealership near me (FIL is three states away - 9 hour drive). He said he will have my car delivered...
