PLEASE TAKE THIS POST WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.....use your own experience and knowlege to decide if what you read below is even close to what the facts could actually be. This is a true account of a conversation I had yesterday.
My small little local dealer called me yesterday, instead of me...
I spoke with her last week...and she ASSURED ME NO BRONCOS WERE OUT IN THE SNOW.....THEY WERE IN A WAREHOUSE OUT OF ANY WEATHER...I was stunned, and was ready to ask what warehouse could store 15,000 vehicles...but held my tongue and thanked her for the information
15,000 units at a median range of approx $45k each = $675,000,000
Hey why would a corporation want to communicate to the eagerly awaiting customers for almost 3/4 of a billion dollars of sales just hanging out in an open field getting blasted by ice, snow for? I mean c'mon man think rationally...
If it makes you feel any better...I ordered a vehicle last year, and it said pending until the very last day, and the dealer called to let me know it was on their lot before it showed in transit....so it never really did anything for me.
Noticed a few commenters here who originally ordered hard tops and feel anyone with a soft top deserves to get screwed because "they jumped the line" by taking advice from Ford to avoid a constrained item...Ford had already offered the early orders a replacement MIC, then a MIC 2, then offered...
