This is something I've seen quite often in review videos for traction boards. The inexpensive, more firm boards with less flex seem to work better as jacking points in soft dirt or sand.
Shows OOS, maybe they’ll get more.
When you tried to use them, how bad were you stuck and what in? Did you dig and get them a bit under the edge of the tire like I see in videos?
I think that soft shackles and a kinetic rope and/or tow strap are essential for sure. They're always in my tote in the back. Compressor, inflate/deflate stuff, some tools, etc.
The difference you're describing between X-Bull and Maxtrax are what I've read. Inexpensive recovery boards use more firm, brittle plastic while expensive ones use a more flexible, durable material.
I am seeing a lot of pro snow, which alone would make them worth it to me.
I will have...
That is exactly what I'm talking about re:the not really stuck just shovel and a couple rocks in my OP lol.
Do all the people using them to get unstuck on YouTube not know how to use a shovel? Does Matt just always have a second vehicle with a winch, and therefore is spoiled for choice?
Thanks. 3x in one day, which ones did you run and how did they hold up?
It sounds like they could still be useful rolling without a winch, but that a winch is preferred.
I did notice that a lot of them come with leashes, apparently that's for a reason lol.
I have read an insane amount of debate on this topic on forums. I've seen many YouTube videos of people reviewing them and using them to free Tacomas, 4Runners, and Wranglers. At the same time, I see people saying they weren't really stuck or just digging and shoving a couple rocks down there is...
FYI I received a reply from Ford Performance that they are making an official kit for the Raptor-style swing gate reinforcement but there is no ETA. I am going to be patient and wait for that.
I have a MXS 5.0 and an older MUS 4.3, both seem to work ok with the clips. I only have a permanent pigtail on my Mustang since it sits for most of the winter.
I've been using CTek for many years without issue.
I'd also be interested in what negative bolt people are using for a permanent tender pigtail hook-up.
Quality on this cannot be very good if it's only for non-Sasquatch.
I'd suggest that most people looking to upgrade are concerned about carrying a tire heavier than the stock SAS tires.
I'm assuming that it is but in a package without a need to remove the Bronco emblem and/or mod the wheel holder, considering the pictures.
I'm wondering if this is next considering they released the B/C braces from the Raptor in a kit for the standard Bronco.
Anyone know if this is still happening? I reached out to Ford Performance but haven't heard back yet.
I saw the thread showing that it was at the LA auto show in 2022.
It's indirectly displayed on Ford Performance's site in a relatively new item posting.
Edit:
I received a reply from...
I love this and was waiting for it but the price is just a bit too much. Budget is making me choose between a BBK on my Mustang and the digital dash on my Bronco.
BBK in the spring is a big upgrade.
That's your dealer. My local has had the foreman come out to see an issue before I've even finished the drop off.
Sounds like they're not very good at managing their work load.
I like it but not interested in parting w/the Bronco. If this was out sooner or I wasn't in on the Bronco when I was, I would've given it a shot. Current Tacoma / 4Runner have nothing on the Bronco IMO.
Interior and exterior both look good, surely it will have at least 33"s like the GX...
