Agreed. On the payload question and also on the towing question. I feel like I have enough experience driving both "within spec" and "over spec" to know when I'm asking for trouble. I don't give two shits about "but if you get in an accident you are liable blah blah". Ain't livin my life...
THISSSSS!!! ALL GODDDAMMNED DAY! I was all BD on day 1, then gradually was seduced into thinking I had to go up to BL to "get it all". Am now almost 100% going Base, both as a big F-You to Ford for doing this, and to be able to outfit it the way I want.
She said of all the virtual Bronco builds and pictures she's seen me agonizing over the past few months, she wants it to look exactly like this one! Guys, that's a green light to go full BL Sas right? Amiright? ....guys?
It was sitting in my driveway this morning! I don't know how she did it, but my wife really knocked it out of the park! It's apparently a limited trim model too! Seems to be a BadLands/WildTrack mashup. And the Sas package apparently comes with 44's , not 35's, I can't wait to get it muddy...
Cannot agree more with OP. I refer to Ford's crafty placement of key features on the different trim levels as a 'greased slide' that you either stay safely on the Base side of, or risk an uncontrolled non-stop pull until you are sitting at maxed out BadLands and wondering what the hell...
EDIT: TL,DR- On EcoBoost, given two close choices, you'd be better off err'ing on the side of the lower overall gearing to get higher overall engine rpm's..
Original Post:
I wanted to offer this input on the gearing...
IMO it would be better to err on the side of having the lower gearing...
I am going to get fired if the boss walks by my office one more time and I have three computer screens full of Bronco builds and OneNote graphic comparisons up.
