You freaked me out with this comment, so I double checked my bumper. LoL! It's sitting flush against the frame, so not sure why I didn't have to cut anything. It was a pain in the butt getting the brackets on and such. Here's a few pics, though I dunno if it shows enough.

Perhaps that is the difference. I do not have the brush guard, so no brackets to interfere with the install. Or as you say, they may have tweaked the design and I had the new version.

I personally installed the LOD brackets on my 22 wildtrack with modular bumper and did not have to cut or bend anything. I removed the bash plate first as it is a tight fit and not much room to work with, but installed without issue, besides a bit of cussing here and there. After install , put...

Just look at my signature block for an example of how much pain I went through as far as from built to delivered heh...

Two longer lug nuts replace the standard ones, so that's the same, once removed, the bracket comes off. Just disconnect the plugs to the lights and you are good. So, basically one additional step.

I have this set as well. Out of the box they do Not work with the brakes. They are a very nice setup and are a easy install. I have mine set to come on when going in reverse and hooked to a upfitter switch.

Did you happen to look under the steering wheel where the fuses are? That is where my code card was located. Pop that panel and there is a spot just above the fuses to the right where the card is held. At least that is where it was in my Bronco....

So, if I understand this correctly, everyone that flat tows with the 2.7 will want this done regardless of what equipment you use to tow? Is this a true statement?
