In Southern California where I live, the sea level is about 728'. I get about 16.8 mpg on average (11.5 on the trails) . While in Moab which is higher elevation, I was getting about 19-20 mpg on pavement (and 13 while on the trails).

@kccougar yes GMRS has channels that overlap with FRS. if you do get a GMRS radio, you will need to get a license. the license lasts 10 years and requires no test. See link below for information...

@Cruachan Yup I'd prefer HAM over GMRS but getting your friends to also get the license is another thing. All of my friends are too lazy or busy to study for the exam. GMRS you just pay the FCC and you are good for 10 years.

Just received and installed the Asfir crossmember skids. These will work with the ford oem skid and obviously Asfirs but if you are running after market skids, they may not be compatible.
