Did you ever make progress on this? I like the 4.27’s as well and do moderate off roading. Just picked up a core M210 4.7 FDU. It needs gears and bearings replaced anyway.

that and the non locking gears the ring gear is welded on. So you have to buy a new gearset anyway.

Yes bronc buster is but it will set you back $4k. Its essentially a 3.0 rack with all his upgrades.

For anyone else check fuse #16 in the under hood fuse box. Ours quit when it was in the neg temps. I even tho I always buy quality -25/-30F fluid. I thought oh well it froze. Well we got back into the upper thirties. And it still didn’t work I went looking around and found the fuse was blown.

Strange thing is our ‘22 F250 at work will stay in the mode you were in upon restart. There is a time limit as I’ll notice the next day it will ask. But throughout the day many key cycles it will keep the selected mode. That tells me it’s possible. I just don’t know enough or where to look to...
