  1. 2022 Tacoma Trail

Honestly, that's what I was hoping for the most. I drove a 2020 yesterday and it was a dog compared to my 2009 with the 4.0. Supposedly a tune takes care of the issue quite nicely. I'm sure that the upcoming new Tacoma model is where the new drivetrain will come in but I can't wait that long...

  3. Not Getting Any Updates From Ford

That's incorrect. I'm code 99 and got the email.
  4. Colorado Bronco Stadium Event

If you're in Denver area you can have mine. I am NOT a Broncos fan (go Chiefs!!) and at this point I'm not even sure I'll wind up with a Bronco so....
  5. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

That last line is what worries me the most. My 2009 has been the best vehicle I've ever owned and I worry that nothing - Bronco or Tacoma - would compare and they'll all be a disappointment.
  6. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Stock tire size on a TRD Off Road/TRD Pro is 31" or 32". As a newbie off roader, what do I gain from 3" larger tires? I'm assuming better angles, more traction?
  7. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

They may not be competitors however, they do share a common use - off roading - and that's all I'm trying to figure out. I've known two people with the new Colorados and they hate them. It's not been on my list of choices at all honestly.
  8. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Go ahead and point out where I didn't listen. I'll wait. Outside of one person who has a rear disc brake hard on I asked questions and took in information. Yes, I know there's a huge difference between a truck and a Bronco. I'm not talking myself into a Taco, Ford is talking me out of...
  9. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Since reading and/or comprehension seem to be lacking here - I've literally just come back to looking at a truck in the last day since being completely underwhelmed by sitting in a Bronco and getting to mess around with it. I have 2 Bronco reservations including a day 1 spot. But yeah, I'm...
  10. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Front locker is huge - but when? On any off road trail or just when rock crawling and the like?
  11. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

I guess I'm an idiot for hoping most people could keep it factual and compare the off road capabilities of the two and tell me what I'd be missing.
  12. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Not spinning, cost was one of the reasons I mentioned. Front brakes do 70% of the braking anyways and I've literally never had an issue with the rear drums on my 09 Tacoma. It brakes as good as any other car - so how do you justify the increased cost and complexity if it's not needed or that...
  13. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

I was always sacrificing a pickup bed, which I use quite often. But a trailer could suffice. No kids, no need for a backseat but Ford not making the back seat area completely flat on the Bronco kinda hurt the appeal of going with the 2 door. I was always going to pull the back seat on day...
  14. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Yeah, and there's a reason Toyota does that. Cheaper, simpler, lighter, less maintenance, easier parking brake, and less issues with mud/rocks getting caught between the pad/rotor compared to getting mud/rocks inside a drum. But keep beating that horse (or should I say Bronco)?
  15. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

See attached. If I removed a few accessories I could get it down to $60k
  16. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Easy to build a 2DR Badlands up to $65k. Lux, Sasquatch, Tow, a few accessories and boom - $65k. Also both the Bronco and the Tacoma are body on frame so they'll feel the same on road.
  17. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

Bronco and Taco both have IFS but the Bronco has a locker and sway bar disconnect (on some trims). In my ideal world I was trying to combine my two cars at the time into one - a Miata and a Tacoma. The Bronco is the top off, wide-open experience of the Miata with the off roading and fun of a...
  18. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

What build/trim would get similar performance to a TRD Off Road Tacoma for $45k? I won't give up the Lux package so it needs to be one that would have that as an option.
  19. Tacoma vs Bronco - what am I missing

A decent tune can go a long way from what I hear. But that 3.5 and 6 speed auto is pretty universally hated at this point and it was the main reason I looked hard at the Bronco. Need? That's a bit much. I could get that based on your other vehicles and apparent need for power/speed. But my...
