Excellent, thanks for the update! I got anxious over the weekend and decided to paint mine using some heavy duty Krylon paint that some others had used. It's only been a day, so far so good lol.
Oh I like that idea of the magnet and metal plate. I was hoping to find a kit that had both pieces, but all I can find is the metal plates and some sticky magnets. Did you find something complete to use?
Oh and anyone installing these, if your āCheck Park Assistā light comes on, you have...
Iām with you OP, Iām having some FoMo after seeing this beauty that some jerk parked in front of my house to taunt meā¦.
I still wonder how this got built when I was told my WT would never get built this year. Ugh, I would love to have this look.

Iām sure this topic has been beaten to death, but I canāt find a concrete answer vs. just guessingā¦
What would stop me from buying a policy from another state (Iām in CA) and just register it it say an AZ address and then change it later? Would Ford not honor any extended...
Thanks to this great thread (@Panzer948) , I was inspired to install the camera that I bought for our other car but never installed.
I finished my install (mostly) and Iām happy with how it came out - I just need to attach the rear camera which Iāll do tomorrow (but there wires are ran already...
Yeah, I've pulled them down a few times to do things and see what you mean. I have the Mabett wires already running back there, so I just decided to run my wires along the same path (on top of the airbag) and all should be good. I'll post some pictures later tonight.
I see a lot of folks running the wires to the back by going down to the bottom of the car and then coming back up through the pillars. Why not just keep the wires up top and run the inside the plastic pieces along the top (left or right) side and back to the roll bar. I had to do something...
It sounds like you did the mirror tap for your power. Did you also run power to the fuse box? I don't plan on using the monitoring of the camera (when the car is off) so I was hoping that I could just tap into the mirror for the ACC power and Neg connections and call it a day. Can we do that...
Iām painting mine as we speak, but now Iām wondering if I put my tape in the best location. I ran it right at the start of crease where the metal is bending and going horizontal. Iām interested to know if people stopped there or went under the door sill more.
I just bought the Krylon Fusion paint and was going to use that as well. Iām torn between that and using some under coating spray or bed liner. Iām sure Iām over thinking this for such a small barely noticeable area lol.
How did your paint hold up?
Hmmm, in order to do that, you'd need to shim the piece that connects where the bolts from the tops go. If you did that, I think it might add some "bounce" and instability to it. You can see what I am talking about in my first set of images that I posted (wth the roof top bolts).
I did wish...
i was able to get my fully loaded (minus leather) WT for MSRP on the lot from a dealership in Michigan. If youāre willing to expand your search thereās some decent dealers still out there. Let me know if you want my list of MSRP dealerships. Good luck!
I had a 1974 baby blue Plymouth Satellite station wagon as my first car that one of my friends named āThe Blue Maguā. So in homage to that awesome ride, my blue WT is named Blue Magu. Iāll be ordering my custom plates soon!
