You're probably right. At this point I am just thrilled that it's fixed, and I don't want to change anything.
I may have gotten good results if I had just smeared some more of the brown grease that was covering it onto the plastic shaft.
Since I can replace the whole spring assembly for $15...
I may have found a solution to the creaky clutch pedal issue. I've at least found the source (on my Bronco).
TLDR
My fix was to remove the clutch spring and separate the 2 halves. Then clean the existing grease off of the plastic parts and grease it with red wheel bearing grease. This grease...

I am giving away Underground Graphics 3 Bar High Red stripes.
These are for a 2 Door Bronco.
I ordered 3 stripe, but wanted 5 stripe.
First 2 door owner to claim them gets them. Pay me for shipping if you feel like it.
Just post a picture here after you put them on...
I have set off the panic (by accident) at least 5 times since I got this Bronco in June. I've never had that problem with other Fords. (Keys were always in my pocket when it happened)
I wasn't aware that it could be disabled in Forscan. Now I have a second reason (in addition to double-honk)...
I also experimented with this remote.
If I hold the button while inserting the battery on this, it works.
However, the negative contact for the battery is just a large pad on the circuit board, and I don't have confidence in being able to solder to it without causing problems. Especially...
I have a LiftMaster garage door opener. I got the whole thing wired up, but it doesn't work of the button on the opener is held down all the time.
The opener that I used is 893MAX.
It works fine if I leave the button un-pushed, turn on the Aux switch and push the button (so, it's getting the 3...
I am looking for feedback from people who have a ceiling mounted hard top lift.
I have a 9ft ceiling in my garage and plan to install a roof lift. I plan to remove the roof for most of the summer so I need to store the roof elevated to make room for the Bronco in the garage.
For those who have...
Don't forget about frontal area of the trailer. A large frontal area requires significantly more power (and therefore cooling capacity) to pull down the road at higher speeds.
Unfortunately, the only frontal area specs I could find were a bit confusing (it lists 20 sq ft for w/o trailer pkg...
Check for loose battery cables.
My son had a very similar problem on his Ranger. The battery terminal was just sitting on the terminal (not tightened). He had taken it to a dealer for body work and they had neglected to tighten it when they put it back together.
I think the bad connection was...
I'm with you there. Both of my kids know how, and in fact took their driver's skill test in a car/truck with a stick.
Now to teach my grandkids in a few years.
It was already a novelty when my lids learned back in 2002 and 2004.
Thanks for the info about your daughter. That's very helpful...
Thanks for the response. I changed the thread title to avoid confusion.
It's funny that you mention the Mustang manual trans because that's what I have now. She loves the car but doesn't like to drive it because she can't see over the hood.
I have a 2024 Big Bend M/T on order.
I'm looking for feedback from people with shorter inseam (26" or so) with driving the M/T Bronco.
I've noticed in some reviews of the Bronco with M/T that they mention the low clutch engagement point.
My wife would be driving this occasionally and her...
Hello all.
I recently ordered a 2024 Big Bend M/T, but I am considering upgrading to a Black Diamond if I end up "downgrading" to A/T ;). (I really want the Black Diamond, but you can't order the Mid option pkg on Black Diamond without adding A/T).
I'm a retired Ford engineer (most of my time...
