No. When I started I was certain I’d have to either cut the tab off or notch the skid plate, but didn’t need to. It was close, but cleared. You can see the tab in relation to skid plate In the pic.

I’ve painted mine. Mine get scratched often enough that when they get sufficiently beat up, I remove, sand and repaint.

Stay on the marked trails. Moab isn’t like Sand Hollow where one can drive about anywhere. If you new, try Fins and Things and Top of the World which is a bit harder.
