OK, I had to check on the Icon webpage to make sure these work for a '23, and thankfully they do. The Amazon page only show compatibility for '21-'22. Ordered.

Not opposed to adding cool shit to my Bronco, but aside from limiting the maximum opening of the tailgate, what load does the strut pass on to the tailgate? Is this just to beef up the tailgate for when the weight of the tailgate/tire combo swings open too fast?

My concern would be having my recovery points being tucked so far under my rig. Depending on the angle of the recovery, the soft shackle or recovery rope could easily be scraping across the bottom of my rig.

Sucks. For just a couple hundred off, I would pass on it too. I wonder if your Bronco was the front vehicle on the transport trailer and took the brunt of road debris? Herb

For your sake and others, you should have documented the damage rather than trying to fix it. I understand wanting things squared away, but you may have lost an opportunity for Ford to evaluate the situation and if needed, issue a recall.
