  1. Can you get front seats without the molle straps?

The modularity of the bronco means that the aftermarket (or fire up a 3D printer) can make use of the mounting locations for other things if the Molle grid isn't your cup of tea. A tablet holder would be perfect for my kids, maybe a fold down cup holder, etc.
  2. Light reading during all these delays

Great read, I like them talking about the better on road driving experience the IFS brings and the tradeoffs to wheel articulation for off roading. No question the Wrangler will is a more capable off road platform but I speed >90% of my miles on road. If I could live with the road manners of a...
  3. 4 dr roof rack guys - how often are you going to leave the rack installed?

I will wait for an aftermarket solution from someone like frontrunner that only uses the 4 mounting point on the rear section and leave it on all the time. Coming from a Tacoma I'm gonna have to put my shit on a diet to fit it all so being able to put tings on the rack will be very useful for...
  4. 2021 Ford Bronco G.O.A.T. Modes Explained [Video]

I want custom GOAT mode(s) that I can select the different custom configurations. Configurations I might want are Overland mode to maximize the range: eco engine/trans setting, swaybar disconnected and 4A Sport Mode: Baja engine/trans mapping and 2WD or 4A This could be like BMW's M modes...
  5. 2021 Ford Bronco G.O.A.T. Modes Explained [Video]

That's what I assume from that video and it is consistent with how Toyota does it. I am not sure why they need to be linked but there may be very good reasons as I have never driven a vehicle that has it.
  6. Serious question: Is this all we get?

Yep, that's my plan, I hope the independent reviews come out before the deadline to convert the reservation to an order, but as you say there are plenty who will be willing if not. Your welcome. ;)
  7. Serious question: Is this all we get?

As far as I am aware no journalists have driven, reviewed and published their review of the Bronco and how it compares to the Wrangler, 4Runner, Defender, Tacoma, etc. I can't just take Ford's word on this with a $30K-$60K decision.
  8. Advanced 4x4 vs the standard option

I think this is one of the most under reported and appreciated features on the Bronco. In the research I have done it gives a lot of the advantages of AWD with the weight/space/cost that AWD systems add. Best as I can tell it is a wet clutch that can transfer up to 50% of the torque to the front...
  9. SEMA Special Live Stream Bronco Q&A

I work in consumer electronics and have experience in designing and building devices that are water resistant, I hope it is hose out but if I was a betting man (which I am) I would bet this one gets revised at some point. switches are straightforward but the airbags, slip rings to the steering...
  10. Why go Sasquatch when Badlands 4.70 is Same ?

I agree no one needs beadlocks, and I would extend it to the entire Bronco. But... I want it and it seams like a ton of fun! As far as beadlocks, yeah I will use them, I air my truck down to 18 for standard wheeling and 12 is as low as I dare for snow wheeling. For me the decision would be to...
  11. Lightweight Overlanding Camper/trailers ideal for BRONCO

Ha! Good eye, I bought the wheels and tires off of someone upgrading. I liked the Duratracs and am trying the KM3s
  12. Getrag 7 speed manual built in China

In my experience the location is an order of magnitude less important than the company culture and commitment to quality. Quality in China was a giant challenge 20 years ago, I would have never imagined that the best consumer drones in the world would not only be made, but also designed in...
  13. Getrag 7 speed manual built in China

I work in consumer electronics, on a typical year I am in China 6-10 times. I have also worked in automotive in aftermarket and racing, opening a joint venture factory making automotive hypoid gears in Taiwan. I often have a different opinion than those I talk to about manufacturing locations...

The Bronco will be the first automatic I have owned. I have come to the conclusion that for off-roading I like an auto better. Here are some of the reasons why I am going auto. When I am climbing hard obstacles and I need to go slower than 1st gear 4low allows I have to slip the clutch and often...

  16. Dealer Requested Deposit Amount

Good to know, personally I think $1K deposit is reasonable.
  17. What's your favorite small detail so far?

Here, here! And I wonder how much they will be to replace from Ford, there is certain to be aftermarket ones as well.
  18. Dealer Requested Deposit Amount

Here is what I don't understand, if I place an order and then back out of it when it shows up can't the dealer then sell it on the market for a hefty ADM? How does the dealer loose if it has a hot new limited vehicle to sell at "market rate"? I am more afraid of the dealer trying to blow the...

    Puget Sound Bronco Brigade

@Joker352 Yeah, that's a good point, its not really about being able to do harder trails, every vehicle has limits and the more capable it is typically the worse it is if you overstep those limits. I have been jealous of the Jeeps doors & windows off fun when the weather is nice. Also It will be...
  20. Color? Is that your final answer?

Yeah that's an option too, or use a rap that matches the paint color and only wrap the outside panels
