  1. Since Bronco is a truck frame, does it count towards Ford's truck sales numbers?

If I remember correctly, one claim is for F150, and one is for F series.
  2. Since Bronco is a truck frame, does it count towards Ford's truck sales numbers?

Expedition and Navigator are classified as trucks. There are only two counts, cars and trucks. Again, has nothing to do with the F series top selling claim. They are not F series.
  3. Since Bronco is a truck frame, does it count towards Ford's truck sales numbers?

Yes, Bronco sales don't count as an F series sale. I didn't say they did. That wasn't the question. And I asked twice why the question. Question is do they count as a truck, and yes they do. Doesn't mean anything towards the F series being the best selling truck.
  4. Since Bronco is a truck frame, does it count towards Ford's truck sales numbers?

Fifteen years as a Ford dealership manager. It's not a car, so it's a truck. Again, why the question?
  5. Since Bronco is a truck frame, does it count towards Ford's truck sales numbers?

Yes, it counts for truck numbers. Why the question?
  6. Who here paid ADM (Adjusted Dealer Markup) for their Bronco?

Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price Pretty clear. Individual choice based on many factors. Some willing to wait to save money, some willing to pay more to have it now. Just like plenty of other products and situations.
  7. Who here paid ADM (Adjusted Dealer Markup) for their Bronco?

I think it's stupid to not buy and have what you want over such a stupid attitude if you have the money and are willing to pay it. But, you have your opinion and are enjoying sticking to it regardless of other sensible view points. Stupid is very relative.
  8. Who here paid ADM (Adjusted Dealer Markup) for their Bronco?

Lots of folks think their decisions make them better than everyone else. :giggle:
  9. Who here paid ADM (Adjusted Dealer Markup) for their Bronco?

Unless that's what it takes to get a vehicle you want, and you have the funds to afford it and want it. Try buying a Raptor truck, or a 911, or quite a few other vehicles that you cannot buy at MSRP. The market is the market, it just is what it is. No value of being good or bad, smart or stupid.
  10. My local dealers attitude towards MSRP and below dealers

You're putting way more into my comment than what I said, and what I was responding to. I was responding the comment that dealers wouldn't have so many Broncos to mark up with out the reserve system, which is not true. Every Bronco that gets built would go to a dealership, that was my point. I...
  11. Ultimate Badlands Non-Sasquatch pics thread

Ditto on the "sell the XJ" comment. I sold my trail XJ a few weeks ago, but very undecided on my driver yellow one. I want the modern daily driver, but..... I have little hope that the Bronco will be as good off road as the XJ. Don't want to derail this thread, but totally relate to your comment.
  12. Who here paid ADM (Adjusted Dealer Markup) for their Bronco?

Mum will be the word here. The old saying applies here: People tell how little they paid for their car and how much they paid for their house. :giggle:
  13. My local dealers attitude towards MSRP and below dealers

I think you folks are missing a big point. Sure, there have been some abuses of the system by bad actors, but it hasn't been the rule, it's been the exception. BTW, we have an important principal in any business I'm involved in, we don't make procedures and policy based on the exceptions. What...
  14. Ultimate Badlands Non-Sasquatch pics thread

This Bronco isn't mine, but it's what I have ordered. 2 dr CO Badlands non-SaS, parked next to my XJ.

Looks like KOH last year. :giggle:
  16. My local dealers attitude towards MSRP and below dealers

😁 I spent 29 years as a manager at a few dealerships. When employees would bitch about customers (just like customers bitch about employees) I would regularly say that if people in general were smart about buying cars that half of us wouldn't have jobs and be working here. Bottom line is any...
  17. My local dealers attitude towards MSRP and below dealers

How is competition not allowed? If there are three dealers in town, or ten, you can go to any or all of those dealers. How is that not competition? If you have one dealer in town you can drive to the next town. So, you think there should be "car stores" that carry all brands, like Best Buy or...
  18. My local dealers attitude towards MSRP and below dealers

I'm curious what type of distribution system you propose would be better? There must be local outlets for sales and service. Are you proposing they should all be factory owned rather than (usually) locally owned? If this is what you are proposing, then how is the dealership model a monopoly...
  19. My local dealers attitude towards MSRP and below dealers

I dropped by to check on my order a few days ago. My dealer is selling orders at MSRP, like mine is, but they said cancelled orders that go on the lot are priced at 10k over. I don't have a problem with that because it really is the market at this time. While it's criminal to hold up someone...
