I am sure Ford has DMBs as a priority, but also sliding tops to production to meet the FE promise as the window is closing on MY21 production so they are doing what they can to keep on track in both cases and an overflow helps a lot there. Either way, Ford has not always been great at telling us...
If this is anything like my own history....
1. They got MIC 2.0 done and they are being produced.
2. DM Broncos get moved to get their tops swapped and shipped.
3. The top-swap location only has so much space. That space has to allow for old tops, new tops, and the Broncos that get them swapped...
The bolded part is the key! For both my Bronco and Maverick, the dealer had me sign the DORA, include an ADM on the Bronco, (small, but still... But its small enough that its still less than what missing a day of work would cost me to go to a dealership not doing one.), and they signed as well...
In the 3rd picture (where you see the scratching/water? Overspray?), look along the top edge across the rear - still appears the layering is exposed. And yes, in the 4th image, you can see the snake skinning along the rear window edge/corner.
@OP's profile says they are in Mi, but didn't...
Things to note:
They don't ship them out individually.
Once they enter 'shipping' stage. they get sent to a railyard or carrier depot to be shipped out.
They wait until they have enough to go to a specific region rail depot to load them in a railcar or hauler if close enough.
Then the shipment...
As others noted ,push back and demand the person who made the agreement sticks to it. But remain calm and respectful. Even smile. When they give up, consider calling local TV news.
In most areas, local news has an "On Your Side" type of news segment.
Call them and have them come out...
Paying an ADM is not a requirement. Many dealerships are offering at or below MSRP, so don't let yourself get locked into one just because they are local. As noted in the other replies. Granger Ford is good. Since you are in New England, Stevens Auto Center is also good and they are East Coast...
As others noted, the dual top option was removed. As a First Edition order holder, you should have gotten this in e-mail on 3/25/2021 as noted below if your order originally had the dual-top option selected:
TL;DR: Raptors? yeah. Limited Production with no mannequins so high ADMs help them retain it to demo for additional sales. Everything else? Just greed. Shop around, Find out. Good dealerships do exist!

If it's a legit LPV (Limited Production Vehicle), ADMs make sense to try and hold on to it...
On my Mercury Marauder, there was someone who worked for Ford on the owner forums who helped people figure out exactly where in line theirs was made. That's how I found out mine was #379 out of 389 300Bs made, and where I learned the VIN is not equal to where you fall in that line especially for...
I am surprised there isn't a list up here that lists out dealerships and pricing: below MSRP, MSRP, MSRP+ADM, and by how much.
One dealership near me is doing $20K:
Another dealership is doing $1K on them, and three others are doing MSRP. If you are willing to drive about an hour or so out of...
"Luxury carmakers Daimler and BMW plan to limit the volume of premium models they ship even once the industry-wide chip shortage eases, in a bid to lock in hefty price increases."
Yep, its a theme! :)
I was about to suggest that. Like the safety sensors many garage door openers use, just mounted higher and on something outside. Maybe lamps? (my garage has lamps on both sides where I could hide sensors like that). Then it would just be getting them wired to something to turn on a warning light.
One idea a friend had for his garage and an F250 was to use the equivalent of old-school curbfinders sticking off the front of his garage at the right height. he knew if he hit those first, it was too tall.
I have a mix of radios because of that very thing. When I go to URE, its CB, but I also do some local volunteer work where dual-band/HAM is needed, and my horse riding friends like GMRS. I have handhelds for all 3 types. I use a Midland 75-822 now for CB, a DBR2500 for HAM, and a handheld for...
With many still stuck on Dirt Mountain now, and many who won't get theirs until well into the new year, I was considering that. I know I won't get mine until mid-November at best, which gets into the holiday stuff.
Anyone have any objections to waiting til Nov 2022?

This is what turns up on a quick search for me:
The twill is true black, black diamond is more of a dark gray, especially over time. Twill has a canvas feel, black diamond a plastic feel. Twill is supposedly quieter and retains inside temp better. Twill can be a little harder to clean the very...
